AWESOME. I love the flames in the front

All I did so far was redo the nose with checkerboard. I am now covering the aft sides.

I need more white for the top of the wing. Local hobby shop has ordered some for me but won't be in until perhaps wednesday or maybe thursday. When are you starting your wing wzak?

Will take 3 hours or more for the glue to dry so I mind as well let it sit overnight. I will be planning my graphics meanwhile.

Yes, the wing will be checkered on the bottom, with a black belly pan. The wing top will be white with a black leading edge. I will have yellow stars, yellow striping and black striping here and there.

I can start the wing anytime but can not do the top until I get more white wednesday or thursday. I will also be adding yellow striping on the wheel pants.

Fuselage with graphics and striping tape. You can not see it but the bottom of the canopy is reinforced with black striping tape.

Can not set up the rest of the fuselage and components for two days, takes 48 hours for the trim and striping tape to fully cure. Then I will put dabs of fingernail polish at the tips.

WOW! I can’t believe the difference the decals made I was thinking black and white was a little plane but you sure dressed it up and now it looks great.

Nice looking planes guys,
I had a Sportster 40 Bipe back in the early 90's, was a fun little plane. I removed the rounded tips and built squarred off tail surfaces. The plane was covered in black monokote with gold stripes trimmed in silver. I put well over 200 flights on the plane and lost it one day on a flame out just after take-off.

Looking good !!!

I'm curious about the striping tape, and the need to let it cure for 48 hours. Can you elaborate ?

The striping tape: Going by the directions on the package it states that Great Planes Kwik Stripe will be fully cured after 48 hours drying time at 70 degrees or six hours in open sunshine.

The star graphics: in the instructions it states . . . does not achieve full adhseion for 24 hours.

Thanks for your reply.

As I usually do my building during the Winter, this hasn't been an issue for me. I guess that I should start reading the package, though !!!

Next time, you may want to look at automotive striping tape. It comes in a myriad of colors and 3 or 4 different widths. Price is similar to the hobby stuff, but you get longer lengths.
