Here is the new one, R.E.P. 1, Esnault Peiterie, 1907. will be 60 wing span. no fin or rudder shown, so will fudge and put one on - as a take off for show and tell. the anhederal wing droop with wing tip wheels will be different. dick

looks to me as if the fin extends from the main wheel to the tail wheel, not sure if that is a rudder angleling up to the stab or flying wire as seen on the top

60" wing plan vu complete, leading, trailing edges pinned in place, not droop contoured. now to develope individual rib shape. thought that I would be downsizeing this model. the droop sure is different and it sure doesn't look very small so far. will be able to stuff it diassembled in the 4 door Ford. snooze time, tomorrow is another long day of Scratch Building.  dick

Really interesting project.  Apparently the original used wing-warping, correct?  Is that what you will do?

No. going to cheat with ailerons. wing warping just too complicated. the variation in rib, root, size is complicated enough.

here's this mornings status, wing structure almost complete. think that it will be be my last one for awhile, at least till my new Lone Star order shows up, they are pretty slow since reopening up after the fire.

Hey- you could use clear Monokote on that ventral flying wire to fuselage to make a fin. Wing warping is really easier than ailerons! I can send close up pics of my Bleriot or Eindekker if interested! I've built 3 airplanes with it and know it works in these models.

I was looking at the 3- view and noticed a sagging flying wire from wing- fuse bottom- wing. Maybe the wing is supposed to flex upwards whereupon this wire checks against further travel(?)
