Getting ready for testflight and would like to know if there
are any special things to keep in mind??
Running an MDS 148 which hopefully gives enough power.

No sorry, don't own one, wish I did. Just wanted to share that one of my clubmates has the "MissAmerica" with a Webra 1.20, and it flies beautifully. Very impressive with it. Seeing that one fly, I don't think you'll have any trouble with the 1.48.

Thanks for the reply, sound good and will make my Friday a
little less nervous...
Do you know what kind of silencer heīs running.
I tried to use the one for Webra 120 but it doesnīt fit inside the
cowl, so the testflight will be with open engine.

Not sure about that...I think it'spitts style muffler he's using. Matter of fact I'm sure its that style. Might be Brison, not sure of brand though.
It sure is a smooth flying plane though, no nasty habits whatsoever. She just runs straight down the runway, holds her tail up, and away she goes. Very nice sight. Very majestic airplane.
Your going to enjoy yours very much.

FHPAB:

What was your impression of the kit ? It lists for about $150.
higher than like size Extras and Caps -- is it worth it ? I'd like to
get one bigger than my 40 & 60 size 51's

As I've posted in other areas -- on your first few flights, I'd suggest you put in 1/8" washout in both ailerons to prevent any
surprises before touchdown. I did this on my T/F 51 and it made
it much more stable at slower speed touchdown

Kit is pretty good but I would like to plank the wingareas.
Looks cheap with a P-51 with only "covered" wings...
Everything fits except for the gastank, where the hole in #1 doesnīt match the cap on the tank.
Iīm not shure about the retracts yet, and itīs kind of scary that
they supply an instruction with the kit on how to straighten them!

IMHO, a P-51 D is always worth more than any other airplanes....
I paid $ 450 for this down in FL last spring but my F*€#ng TIG
broke down when I started on making the exhaust and I still
havenīt fixed it. Will do as soon as I get it in the air and feel
ashamed of not having the cowl on. ( Lazy by nature )

Still working on mine, have the Saito 1.80 mounted along with the throttle servo and push rod. Tank went in with out any trouble.
Installed a Robart #160 retractable tail wheel in the scale location and it takes two servos to operate. Have high torque Hitec servos on the gear and three servos in the tail for a total of 12. Have a Y harness with reverser on the elevators, a Y harness on the rudder/tail wheel, a Y harness on the ailerons, a Y harness on the flaps and a Y harness on the gear.

For those of you with the GS Miss America, send in your original landing gear along with 5 bucks to World and they will send you the new and improved gear.

Robart is making replacement scale gear for these planes but they are not ready as yet.

Where do I send the retracts?
Iīm over in Sweden and I very much doubt that the people here
will honor something like that.

Finally got the engineproblems solved and now the MDS 148
purrs like a little Russian kitten. No Nitro was the ticket, so
I did all the preflight checks and taxied her last night.
She looks much better with the tailwheel moved to the correct
position.

Thanks guys
