I thought you said your shed was a mess? I can only wish that my shed was only that messy.

The key is to have a place for everything and to have lots of shelves.
The shelves shouldn't be too deep to prevent stacking things in front of eachother so it's easy to get to everything.
No matter how messy it gets, it's always quick and easy to clean up then.

I also have the advantage of being tall so I can use the entire wall all the way to the roof to store things and still be able to reach them....

You lucky sucker... I wish i had that much space to work in... I'm building my Beretta in a 6'x6'x6' corner in the basement... Ohh yeah... And I'm 6'3''... Needles to say I'm a little bent out of shape these days...

Yeah it's only a single garage actually but I've managed to cram a lot of stuff in there over the 2 and a bit years that we have lived in this house, that's for sure.
I'm 6'3 as well by the way and have hit my head so many times over the years it doesn't even hurt anymore....

Well I've had a bit of a look around for servo's and as I'm gonna need a rather large one for the steering it's gonna cost a bit more than I can afford at the moment.
So I think that I'm gonna have to go with some cheaper no name ones to begin with just to get the thing running, and then upgrade down the track.

I found THESE last night.
Two of them should turn the wheels shouldn't they?
At that price it's worth a shot for something temporary anyway just to figure out how to set the whole thing up.

I've ordered my wheelsquares and hopefully they'll get here next week so I can start setting up the rear axle and jackshaft.

I strongly suggest you don't get that servo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought the exact same one once before and it stopped working after about 5 minutes of use. The Gears are good, but the electrics are horrible.

The servos on that site would only be good for a little nitro car, mate. They're the same dimensions a most 1/10 servos, (just compared to a spare Futaba S3003 I had here) that size may be a reason Sam's one got fried under load?
have a look for biggies, like Hi tec, Futaba, I dunno if Sanwa makes big ones - probably. JR Propo is another make that comes to mind....must be other makes, too?

remember this post?

Mudgy - Nope, it didn't fry under load. It died before it even got installed into the car

DV - Something like this would be good : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Hitec-HS-5745MG-Digital-Giant-Scale-BB-Servo-5745mg_W0QQitemZ370239602516QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5633ffff54&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177

D VP, I too say get a bigger servo , especially from a proven company. Hitech ones are great, and if you can pony up more for Multiplex Rhinos or Tonegawas, those are the ones to get.

That Tower Pro servo, I do not even know where they come from. Worse, if they have warranty or even their track records.
I have had several brands of servos: JR, Futaba, Hitech, and more, and these have lasted me to this day. Some of my servos are well over 5 years old and they all still work.
One of my uncles gave me a vintage 1980's Futaba stick radio that came with 6 servos, and to my surprise, even after nearly 30 years, some of those Futaba servos still work!

OK, that's a bummer, then. I suppose that's coin gone to experience.

Could have been just bad luck as well though.
Had a look at that sellers feedback and it was almost all positive.
Over 4000 comments or something.

Still, I won't get one of them.

Yesterday I started to set up the clutch on the motor.
As I'm using a clutch of an old brushcutter there's a bit of trickery involved to get it all on there, but I think it's going to work.
Will post photos later on today.

In the meantime, here's my new toy....

Nice!!
I got a press like that at the workshop (just taller)
Always clamp the table to the column, coz if you dont, when pressuring a drill bit into the job, that long gear rack will cop the load and the table won't be dead square...(our one got bent when a dumb ass sales rep used it)

Cool thanks for the tip.

I spent ages yesterday squaring the table up as there are no real marks on there to line up with.
Just a stick on label with the degrees on it.

It's a REXON 10in drill.
No laserbeams or flux capacitor.

Here are some pictures of the clutch setup.
It's pieces off two old brushcutters.
It would have been impossible to mount that little sprocket on the inside of the original chainsaw clutch.
The clutch bell is inside the red housing.

Hope it's gonna work ok.
Am thinking I might have to make a couple of flat spots on the output shaft to give the grub screws something to grab on to.

The long grub screw holding the sprocket will be replaced with a shorter one as well.

Hey hey look what I got...
Bits and pieces!!!!

Hopefully I'll get a chance to tinker a bit over the weekend.
Still a couple of things to sort out though.
The bore in the sprockets don't all match the axle diameter and I need to get a die to cut threads in the axle etc.

But it's getting there.

Got all those lovely aluminium profiles for $5!
They'll come in handy for sure

I've got my eye on THIS servo for the steering.

But I've got another question regarding servos and recievers.
Are they all compatible?
Might be a silly question to all you RC veterans, but as you know I'm still a newbie.
