Been informed that the KV-1's are presently on the water and eta is June 16th in Calif. - The Tank Museum should receive them approx 1 week after.  All tankers that pre-ordered can expect them to be shipped out the day we receive.  You can still order the KV-1 @ $700 plus shipping and PP fee if applies.
Tankers get that workbench or the kitchen table ready for that next project.

My US rep is trying to get the info - unfortunately one side of the world does not know what the other side is doing!
We can go out into space, but can not find out if Tamiya is releasing a KV-2 kit or just hop up pats for the KV-1.
Go figure!

Sounds like it is a Japanese war secret..  Russian spies will have to infiltrate Tamiya headquarters in Japan to find out.  My guess is that it will be a separate kit, as Tamiya stands to make more money that way.  If you want both a KV-1 and KV-2 you will have to pay $1400 instead of $700 plus a turret/gun assembly.  How bout that top secret SU-152 that they are keeping quiet?  Very sneaky of them

Dont worry, as I too am one of the victim's, I have allready been in contact with Harris County Sherriffs Dpt, whom I know a few people in, as well as Texas DPS, whom I know SEVERAL people in, and I have even refered this "person" to them for investigation... we should get an answer some time, but alas, it is a slow proccess.

Tankette Girl,

Have you yet heard if Tamiya will be releasing the KV-2 as a separate F/O kit?  Do you know if the KV-1 kit includes a Commander half-figure?  Maybe they stopped including figures a few tank releases back..  Seems 1/16 German figures are more commonly available than Russian ones.

I have already seen the KV-1 up close, stock speed is too fast, ard 48Km/h (scale speed) The sound is a bit hollow due to the new speaker box style. The traverse and elevator sounds are very soft and the damaged sound is not very impressive.

Planedev,
Thank you for that well written, objective, dissertation. Based on your alleged empirical observations, I am pretty sure Tomas and the other 7 people, from around the the world, who have paid in advance for this new Tamiya kit, will now cancel their orders. Again, fine reporting work.

Well said, John. Guess based on the expert's report I will have a lot of repairs and modifications to do to mine. But then, this red haired monkey knows how to do it. Lemme see now, a 6 tooth pinion, and go to radio market and obtain good speaker...OK, got it!
