Default Roll Out Settings

I have a LST XXL with the Spektrum Radio. I am curious, has anyone taking the time to figure out an accrate roll out setting?
It is in TELESET, tele-speed. This setting gives you the "accurate" speed of truck.

Yes in the manual, page 20. Or go to Spektrum website and view the manual for DX3S and view it that way, still page 20.

Interesting.... It appears they already took tire ballooning into consideration when they did the factory roll out setting.... the Roll out as measured by pushing the truck is only about 6 3/4".... But of course the faster you go, the bigger the diameter of the tires gets, so the roll out increases, I can easily see the tires growing by and inch or more at speed.... I think we need someone to do some radar runs to see at what speed its actually accurate, and how far off it is at other speeds....

Strap your car gps to it and compare the speed. It will hold the max speed recorded. Just be careful not to flip it and damage your gps.

Ok, I finally made it out today to play. Put in the correct roll out setting of 7.9 and the fastest I could go was 42mph. I have no concrete here so it was down the gravel rd. I am sure that makes a big difference. Its still fun. Pretty impressive that the xxl with lift the front end of the ground going into 2nd. gear.  Fun Fun Fun
No serious damage live for another day.
Waiting for my 30,000 diferential oil to show up and change out the grease.

Oh I have broke things. Just not that run. Took it easy. I have had to replace front and rear bumpers and rebuild the rear diff. Once the spur gears and now the pinion gear. Still cheaper than full size....LOL

If your Stripping Gears you should Check your Engine Brace....If it's Cracked it'll let the Engine move Enough to Strip the Gears......
Up Grade to a Macined Alum Brace and no more worries.....

I like the foam idea.
I just picked up a set of bumpers for .99 on ebay. Can't beat that.
If you get a few things for the .99 price shipping doesn't seem so bad.
I also just picked up 2 new sets of paddle tires and wheels for $35.00. Going to the sand dunes along Lake Michigan in a few weeks. I want to see how they work in the dry and wet sand Probably going to be hard on the truck though. Can't be good for it.
But I am expecting to have some serious fun.

Also need to try the GPS idea.

Has anyone shot the XXL with Radar to see how accurate 7.9 is?
