I am new to painting myself and am learning quickly.

My latest project is to get a matt and gloss finish after painting.

I have tried to find a matt lacquer/clear coat but can't find one available in a spray can (nt got a spray gun/compressor yet).

I am doing it in black, and want a two tone matt/gloss finish ie matt front to gloss back or the other way.

As I can't find a matt lacquer, would someone be able to tell me how effective clear coating normally then adding matt/gloss black to the top of that would be. Would that be a disaster?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Status: offline 		if your painting a lexan body you have to paint the inside which allows you to not have to clear coat. im assuming you are talking about a matte finish as in being dull...? if so than i dont think you can achieve that due to the body giving a clear coat look. hope that made sense.
