Status: offline 		Hi everyone. I recently bought a Yellow Box TF P51B kit off of EBay in perfect condition. I know, I know, you shoulda bought
a Gold Edition. Well anyways, I'm set on building this thing.
My question is does anybody know if the Spring Air 116 series retracts will fit this kit?

Status: offline 		RCPS, I built the same plane six years ago, and just bought one off eBay also, which I will build in the near future. I put retracts in the first one, as I recall, the higher priced ones that Tower sells for about $25 or so. I wanted to use MK which I used to use in pattern, but the airfoil is fairly thin up front and the MK gear sticks up too high. Supra gear would be a quality retract with a low profile. I have never used air retracts so can't comment on them.

did the airplane fly? I'd appreciate any input you might have on the building and flying aspects of this kit.

Status: offline 		It flew really great for about 5/8 of a lap, until my brand new JR 8103 quit talkin' to me.....straight in, couldn't even throttle down. It was fairly fast with an older OS 60 (not 61) FSR. Pretty honest airplane. They had a good reputation when I first got into RC in about 1977. Good enough that I bought this second one off eBay!

No particular tricks to the building that I recall from 6 years ago. I did my usual and filled in the rib bays where the wheel wells go with styrofoam before sheeting the wing, then when you cut out the wells you have a nice wheel well, rather than a wide open wing bay, plus it strengthens that bay a little bit.

input. I also have a JR 8103 but have had no problems with it.
I plan on starting construction soon. I may come up with more
