I am very new to the SPAD concept and I am tinkering with the idea of building my own. All of the information in this forum has been extremely helpful.

I was in Home Depot today and noticed that they carry 2.5" vinyl gutter downspouts. Is that the same stuff people are using to build theri SPADs with? It seems to be more flexible that the round PVC I see in the irrigation section.

Looking for a local supplier of coroplast in the San Diego area. Once I find that I'm on my way!

Status: offline 		Yes, that's it. The v in PVC stands for vinyl, the terms are interchangeable in this case. Get some while they have it!

Status: offline 		The gutter pipe that we use is exactly 2 1/2 inches square and has smooth sides (no corrigation).

Look for a brand name if it's Raingo it's the right stuff.

Status: offline 		ok my question is what home depot are you going to and what aisle is it in. I can't find any square vinyl or pvc downspouts. I find only 1" x 3'. I have checked lowes and sears too and it is all the same. Maybe it is just St Louis and they have banned the 2 1/2" stuff i just can't find it

Status: offline 		Haven't tried this in a while, but a year or two ago, this was the best bet for folks in the U.S. Go to http://doitbest.com/shop/find2.asp , and search for a store near you. Then search for "downspout", get the SKU number (brand name is Genova) and go to the store and special order enough for about 50 spads.

If you don't see it in the hardware store, ask if they have it. I have noticed a lot of the hardware stores around here keep it in the back.
