I've just installed a Zenoah G-62 and have sat for the past hour wondering how I'm supposed to install the throttle linkage. I know I'm supposed to use a bell crank, but I don't know how to install it so that everything will be linear. I don't get how it works. This is my first gas engine. Any help would be appreciated! I'd really like it if someone could send me a pic or diagram of how to do it. Thanks.

I use an aluminum plate the same size as the original factory installed steel plate. To that I mounted a small brass "L" bracket to which I mounted a bell crank. If you use the cup mount then you don't need the "L" bracket.

Just a note here . Zenoah now has a straight shot set up (no bellcrank) on the new G 62's. They changed the carb mounting block. It is available as a retrofit ,Check with your local dealer .Mine are on order now so I have them for my next installation.

I have the carb. adaptor I would like to install on a G45. The problem is, the original one has a crankcase tap for pressure to make the carb pump like they are supposed to, and the adaptor does not. If the adaptors work what does a guy do with the nipple in th crankcase?

I had the same problem with a Zenoah G-45 and decided to make a snake drive from speedometer cable. The fittings for the throttle arm and servo were machined on a lathe but there was someone at Toledo last year that was selling Snake Drives for different engines. Not sure of their address though. The setup can be seen on the Sig 1/3 Scale Spacewalker link on http://winshiprc.tripod.com The Snake Drive has no play and no slop that I can detect.

The other methods work fine also. Horizon was out of the new carb mounts that rotate the carb for alignment when I needed it so I decided to fabricate my own snake drive.

Does anyone know where I can get a smaller version of speedometer cable for smaller engines?

Ah, progress....Apparently Horizon forgot about the pressure tap..You might be able to drill a small hole straight through the new adapter using the gasket between the adapter and the cylinder..Use the gasket under the carb and drtill another hole halfway through the block from the top..
Connect the straight thru hole and the halfway hole with a small 1/16 ball cutter in your Dremel tool.
Another way..Get a fuel fitting, Walbro part #128-218.Drill a #23 hole in the carb backplate, where the dimple is cast into it..Put the fitting in the hole, facing down. Gringd off the excess brass flush with the plate....Drill a #29 hole in the crankcase under the carb..Tap the hole with an 8-32 tap and put in a fitting..Connect the two with fuel tubing..Works great, been doing it for 15 years on G62 and G38 conversions to turn the carb to connect to the advance on my ignitions...
I use G10 epoxy board for the block...There's about $.65 worth of G10 in the board...You think Horizon cares about their customers ??? For what their profit margin on Zenoah parts is, they should do it free...

You got the wrong adaptor. I ordered a G62 adaptor, and got a G45 one in error. The g45 adaptor had a tube that screwed into the block. Call Horizon and swap it for the right one.

Buy the snake drive, don't be cheep with your airplanes. I have the snake drive in three of my planes, and it's worth the money. After I saw them at the show, I went home and did the same thing, used speedometer cable DO NOT DO THIS It bird nested and I crunched my plane. The snake drive is made out of some double wouned cable, that has no twist. I just saw them on ebay.

Queried EBAY about "snake drive", and get nothing. Does anyone know exactly what they are called or where to get them?

The snake drive looks interesting but it's metal all the way through and looks like trouble to me!

I need a diagram on how to do the bellcrank system also! Horizon is no help at all on their site and the Zenoah manual doesn't give you a clue! I tried to order one of the new carb adapters to turn the carb so you have a straight shot for throttle linkage but they are NOT IN STOCK! Dang!

Anyone? I have a finished airplane sitting there just waiting for this last bit of hookup!

I received information from Jim Gressel in OK that you can get snake drives from the guy who invented them, Ralph Delorio @ 1-888-740-7737.
