Don,t care if you are an old time,   new timer  a youg'un  or a returnee  get'em posted we want to see em.  

Makes no nevermind Stunt,  Speed,  racing,   combat,   sport or  lectric just get'em posted

Cool Bill beautiful airplane.     I notice you fly with a group at an RC field how have you managed to get others involved.    I do fly at my RC field but the only one for years and just cannot get any to try it.

Come on guys lets post those pics or vids.

Come on now guys I know you got pictures and what better way to snag a few converts to what it feels like to have a real live living, breathing airplane pulling hard in your hand.

Here are a few of my most recent and the vehicle for my return after a few years in the chair.    The twenty foot concrete pour was also a critcal factor.  

The airplane is a Magician built from the old kit with a throttled OS 40FP and a three channel  (only throttle is used)  Bill Young electronic handle.

I live in St. Augustine FL and fly with the X47 Flyers, which is a club made up of CLPA enthusiasts.   We fly here in St. Augustine on a soccer field during the week and in Jacksonville at the old Cecil Field NAS on the weekends.

I am also a member of the Ridge Barnstormers in Lake Wales FL.  I recently joined that club because both of my daughers live in that area and I wanted a place to fly CL when I am down there visiting which is fairly often (nice to be retired).  This club has both CL and RC facilities. I cannot take any credit for getting any of the flyers there to try CL, though I am trying to talk up CL every time I go to the field.  Phil Coopy is the primary force behind CL in the club.

Actually, since joining the Barnstormers, I got the itch to fly a little RC again and built a Sig Kavalier to fly just when I am down there.  Flying RC again has been fun, but I still like to feel the airplane tugging on the lines.

Here is a picture of my favorite CL airplane, the good old Barnstormer.  This is the eight one I have had over the years.
Power is a Fox 35 reworked by Larry Foster.

Me too - I fly both CL and RC.  In fact, I'm currently prez of both clubs.

I recently sold off a majority of my CL stuff.  I'm NOT giving it up but simply don't have a lot of time for either facet of the hobby.  Got laid off 2 months ago and spend 10-12 hours per day searching/applying for positions.  Not the ideal time in the middle of one of the worst recessions in memory to be job-hunting...

Here's a group shot of what I USED to fly. All except the Fancherized Twister now have new owners.  Twister is being re-engined from an OS FP25 to an OS LA40.

Hey Bill I love the Barnstormer too And indeed you are so fortunate to have others to fly with at your field(s)   Been a loner at my RC field but hoping that will change that I got an official circle built.

Bozarth now that is just so cool and a new one on me,   indoor controlline  please don,t be shy about coming back after the maiden to let us know and oh oh,   please pics/vidio. 

PipeMajor  that simply was an awsome fleet that anyone would have been proud of  I wish you well in your efforts to weather this horrible economy  that so many of us has had to really buckle up in. 

Had the little Magician out this morning agine and been so far have been averaging about two days a week now and RC the rest of the days.    Normally I stay pretty much on my little twelve foot square carpet at a round table on the RC side flying my stuff or mentoring others but conned a deal if anyone want me to fly with them on my ukie days They gotta help drag my big butt over to the circle and back then start my engine  as well as doing the launching chores.      

He, He so far has worked like a charm.  

Here is a vid one of the guys did this morning and my fervent hope is it may just help an old ukie flyer or convince a new one that may have some physical difficulties that things are not always lost.

This is the stunt trainer I built for my son. Built up profile fuselage with a 55" wingspan solid wing made from 12mm (near enough 1/2") balsa covered with doped on silk for strength. Engine is a Magnum GPA 53 which flies it quite nicely. It'll do the full pattern (squares are a bit iffy ) but it's mainly intended to get him into rounds and inverted.

This is great and thanks for posting Downunder very cool you got you son into controlline.       Cutaway I like your magician done up 'old school'   also.

I would like to hear any thoughts on the new Hanger Nine Pt-19 as a tool to gets folks to try controlline.    Seems as though it might be an easier sell to tempt crossovers.     Also just what linelength is used on that electric.    The slower the rotation the better expecially  some of the older possible crossovers. 

I would think being able to fly it both RC and controlline would be a powerful hook for many?

I'm a newbi here, and have been getting into control line, for about the last 5 months, i have been scratch building some planes to teach myself how to fly and to learn about what works and not.All of these are scratch built except for the akromaster which i have to finish.

Here's what I've got at the moment:

Aeroflyte Spitfire (PAW 19DS);  'Litestreak' (own design modification of Jr Flitestreak  - scaled down to ~90%, higher aspect ratio, PAW 09); Jr Flitestreak (Enya 15-III), FW190 (own design, Norvel 061), 'Volante' (own design, Enya 09-IV), Wingmaster (PAW 19BR), another Wingmaster (Enya SS30S), and a Flying Flounder (scaled down a bit from the original and powered by an Enya 19-V).

The Jr Streak was a Brodak kit, and the Spitfire was a Dave Brown half-kit; the rest I scratch-built.  I've also got a Brodak '59 Ares (for an OS 35S) half-built, and a couple of ideas for a PAW 19TBR and Enya SS15S which are crying out for models.

Here's a pic of my new Brodack ARF Smoothie. I have a ringmaster kit will build soon. Am president of R/C club in Savannah and am trying to get some interest in C/L again. So far, I'm alone. But every time I put her up, and complete a flight, there seems to be interest, and everone at the field stops to watch. All I can say is just do it. It IS a real rush. Better then when I was younger in the 60's.

I have been flying sport and scale models with throttle control

This model is over 11 years old and is in need a new paint job due to hanger rash and other damage.

Span - 7 feet
power - OS-90 four stroke
weight - 11 lbs

This was designed to carry a 35mm camera and now is outfitted with a small video camera.

Hey guys this is great and keep the pics coming,    Pics and vids is how we can keep interest up.      Steve I love that flying fish of yours and would love some  more pics of that.   

Fred what kind of throttle system are you using now.    I think it was you who wrote an artical in one of the mags a long time ago covering different systems  and that is what turned me on to the Bill Young system.

I also remember some pics of yourself shot out of that airplane I think at Apollo Field (the Basin) in LA.    Are the infared systems getting anywhere?

Here is my Copperhead V-10, named after an early nineties Mopar showcar engine. I built it in the early nineties and have been flying it since about '95. Foam wing, 58" span, 4" sweep and 770 sq inches. All balsa sheeting, dope and silkspanned and automotive acrylic lacquer color and clear. Graphics are mostly painted through hand cut shelf paper, custom rub-ons for the smaller stuff. Powered by an OS 46 VF at first, it has a PA (Nelson based) 61 RE on an Aero Products cf tuned pipe. It seems to like an Eather 3 blade 13x3.75 at around 9,900 to 10,000 on 68 foot (legal definition) .018 lines. It flies at about 5.3 to 5.4 second laps and handles pretty well in calm or wind.

I am currently using the single channel throttle system with the camera plane, but I was using the JR radio system on the model (direct servo connection). And you are right I have taken still pictures from this model at the Basin in Los Angeles.

I still have some Bill Young handles but prefer to use the DSC (JR radios) and the single channel systems.

I haven't tried the infrared systems lately, but they worked last time I tested them.

Not much as changed expect some of the suppliers have quit building some parts like the Custom electroniics servo driver that I have been using for the last 10 years.

I'll be at the Denver labor day contest with this model...

This is my latest, basically a Legacy with Mike's Primary Force wing tips, trike gear and my fuselage to accommodate a side mounted Saito 62 with Brodak dope finish. Lost foam wing, straightest and stiffest wing I've ever built but also the most labor intensive.

2nd picture is what I use to haul stuff between the shop and circles in my front yard..
