well I'm ready for the Float Fly event in my area this coming saturday
I decided to install a set of floats on my T-Rex 450 SEV2 last night for the float fly event Saturday. They are 30 size floats a bit big for it but still cute and they work very well. I adjust Stunt 2 with a special Throttle and Pitch curve for float flying. I tested it this morning, It was misty rain and breezy and small shops on the water but it flew very well and I was able to ride on the water like a pontoon boat too. very cool
I made a small clear plastic plate under to protect the Motor and ESC from water splash and cover the hole under the canopy. Flew 6 min with no overheating problem.
Its lots of fun to fly from the beach and on and oof the water with a heli

Video of the test flight this morning the 10 of june 09

Well today is the Float Fly event ,I hope to see other helis on floats.
These floats would be Perfect for the T-Rex 500, might consider this for next year, instead of another 600.

Very nice Paul... What a great video also ! I think the last video I saw from ya was awhile back and was the one where you showed the different camera views with some aerial vids on your V2 when you posted the vid here. I see now by looking at your other vids you've been busy... Awesome... I love these heli's !

Yeah I really like those floats. I'll have to grab a set in time for the 500. They look fine for the 450 even ! I think I remember seeing them on Tower's website awhile back. Its always been a fetish of mine also to try some water adventures with the heli's since I also live in an area with abundant water sources here on the Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest. The rivers probably wouldn't be a good idea... LMAO...

Anyhow, hopefully you'll have a few pics from your Float Fly to share...

Cheers,

~ Jeff

Well I just got back from a great day.
I was the only Heli at the event and they all loved it, the weather was perfect, I had 8 flights and the last 2 the wind picked up but still flew very well.

Those are pictures at the event
