Traxxas_Tech -> Can I purchase a G2 transmitter Interface separately? (3/27/2002 9:37:47 AM)

I am looking at buying just a Realflight G2 CD. I will need the transmitter interface, is there anything else I'll need? I have looked at Towerhobbies, cant I just buy a JR transmitter interface by itself somewhere? PLEASE HELP! :confused: Thanks!

yes, you will have to have your local hobby shop order it from great planes. I don't remember the exact part number but they should know it. Last time I checked the interface was about $75-80.00.

Coulter,
Instead consider purchasing the new G2 USB update which will give you the latest genration G2 and the new USB-based interlink which is both controller and interface combined.

important note!!! Do NOT buy a used Cd that you can not get :
a) the serial #
b) a letter from the seller releasing his registration to you.

without both of these you will not be able to:
install/run the program
register
update the product
purchase certain types of updates for the product

Sincerely,

Traxxas_Tech -> Thank You! (3/28/2002 5:30:02 AM)

I may just go with the G2 with the USB link. That sounds like a great idea! Now just to find a cheap one.... :D Thanks, Coulter

Thats all well and good but great planes has it on back order for 2 months so far now they are saying late April so when can we get it. My Parralell adapter is broke and I cant even get one so the usb in not yet out. :mad:

3Dreaming -> waiting (4/6/2002 9:52:35 AM)

They shipped some a little over a week ago. I got mine after a three month wait. I've had it a week and love it. I wanted to learn how to torque roll, and I'm well on the way. Tom

visioneer_one -> another option. (4/10/2002 6:51:49 PM)

joystick port version: $40
USB version: $60

I have the version of this cable that connects to the joystick port. Works well with my copy of G2; I've tried it with both Win98 and Win 2K.

He also sends a copy of the FMS simulator on CD. Keep it for your self or give it away to a new pilot (like I did) :)

Thanks for the good ideas. I think I've decided to buy a new G2, or at least a complete used system, I've heard of too many bad things that can happen when you piece together used stuff....

Thanks again for everyones help! :D

No, RF isn't that bad!
Just stay away from VIA chipsets (too bad Intel doesn't make system logic for AMD chips) and ATI video cards and you'll have no problems installing and running G2.

;)
