It is a Eagle 580 46/81 EP It weighs 6lbs 15 oz. It flys great I just have trouble getting on the ground in one piece.
Thanks sty181

Thanks for the weight on your Eagle 580 46/81 EP.  I am at 8lbs 5 oz. I am 1 lb 7oz. heavier.  I sure am paying a weight penalty with the RCGF 15 CC gasser.  Our field is flooded with all the rain. It will be into next week before I can fly again.

Jimmy

I feel that it lands very well with no surprizes. At least as easy as my P-47 thunder bolts ( 60 size ). One 65 " Hanger 9 and , one 67 inch wing span P-47 razor back by Model Tech.  How ever my EP 46 580 is over weight by at least 1 lb do to a 15 CC RCGF gasser. If I come in too slow the nose starts to drop then I just add a little throtle. I am looking into making it an electric to loose a little weight. If that adds up to be almost as heavy I have a saito 100 that will definately hover this plane. Hope this helps. The Matt Chapman Cap EP 580 is a nice looking bird. Good luck.

Just bought this guy, hope it turns out to be a fantastic flyer.  I've been eyeballing it, the Extra 300sp and Revovler for months.  Finally settled on the Eagle 580.  I am planning on using an Evolution .61 2 stroke, but in the future I plan on upgrading to 4 stroke or maybe get into electric power.  Just had that engine setting around needing a home.  Anyone have any experience with using the evolution on this plane?  What prop combo would make this beast perform like a champ?

I have been flying this plane for about 6 months with an OS 61 FX.  She is AWSOME!!  Unlimited Vertical, Super Fast rolls, and man she is fast!!  It will tip stall if you dont keep your speed on the turns and she lands a little hot.  But all in all , a GREAT PLANE!!!

Any one of those engines would work, but I think the 62 would be the best choice.  the AX 75 is alot of engine for this airplane, and too heavy

Wouldn't recommend any of those. Try the 65ax or the 55ax.

The matt chapman580 53 is a great airplane. no hidden surprises iv got a saito fa-91 4 stroke with a 14x6 prop on mine had to change motor mount the one that came with the  plane was to weak for the saito-91 it fit but after first flight started to break . replace with alum.mount buy changeing mount . took the lead out of the nose.with the stk. mount it took 2 oz. of lead to bal .it  was tail heavy. bal. at 3 3/4 flys perfect  also needs more elevator on low setting. iv got rates set to high all the way around with 20% expo.on alerons only. she is a very sharp airplane and  a looker. flys real well inverted for a cap. landing are very stable and with enough elevator she lands like a kitten . it 's a plane that has to be flown to the runway . then slowly idle down and she. makes a soft landing with enough elavator feed .have not seen any stall  proublems. i rate this air plane as a 10 + it's not a trainer. not a good plane for a beginner.  anyway im thinking of getting the big one with a dle -100. have fun guys see ya at the field

Big one is not the same design. But flies super nice with a 85.

Anyone has a Chapman with a 95AX?
I do have a 55AX available, but since I read someone has a 75AX on one and the 75 has the same base size as the 95 and is even heavier than the 95, so I thought maybe the 95 would provide lots of power and still not too heavy.

Thanks,
