Status: offline 		I use the rc8te for bashing only and some of my friends have a savage flux. I would not trade, never! where they can go, I can go. But with more precision, better handling and more balance....

some video where you can see both fluxxes and my RC8Te... and yes I need to learn how to jump too... but only after doing this for more than 20 minutes, one rear hub carrier broke..

Status: offline 		Nice video.. It looks like you were gettin the hang of jumping by the end of the video. Remember if you stay in the throttle it'll cause truck to nose up.. If you hit brakes it'll nose down.. best way to learn to jump is spend an afternoon on a track.. You'll have to hang of it before you leave.. Electric can be a bit harder, because the engine is the brake, and you have to learn the throttle positioning to make it fly level..

Status: offline 		Well I did it, I've got an RC8Te on the way and should be here by friday. I was going to sell my savage first but I couldn't wait. After plenty of online research I've decided on this truggy and I think I made a good choice, It should be together by next week and I can't wait. Got it from Tower for a great price they have discounts right now for Christmas and I could't resist. The only thing that's buggin me is the 3mm shock towers, just wondering how they hold up to the abuse, as soon as I get some extra cash I'll get the CF towers.

Status: offline 		Well it's all went together pretty smoothly, all that was missing was one screw which isn't a big deal but other than that the kit looks nice and solid. Just wondering if any of you guys have run into any problems with the plastic spur, and if so do they make a 50 tooth mod 1 metal spur? I'm waiting for my tires to come in once they do I'll get some pictures up.

The plastic spur on my truck still looks very good. Since they don't cost much I bought an extra one. Your truck looks nice, what motor is that?

Status: offline 		It's the Revolver 9XL 1845kv from Kershaw Designs, I had it in my Savage XL and it moved that 14lbs beast around pretty good so it should handle the 9lbs RC8Te with ease.

I see that the last post here was a while ago so I am hoping to either revive this one. Or maybe you guys can tell me of another thread that is the "Official" official RC8Te thread?

Anyhoo... I can't wait to get my hands on another kit! Haven't had one since the Hellfire SS a few years ago. I been racing an ERevo last season and although it was a mean machine and I could hang with the truggies just fine, I am really looking forward to running a proper truggy again.

Lets talk tires! Will AKA's such as cityblocks or I-beams fit on the Associated wheels OK?

Status: offline 		I had an MGT a few years back and I had a lot of trouble with the plastic shocks... mainly the caps poppin off.
I have heard some guys say that they have been a big problem on the this truggy and some that have had no trouble at all.

So anyway, the Associated aluminum upgrade kits are pretty pricey, even just the bodies and caps! Do you guys know of any drop-in replacemnts that aren't so expensive?

I fixed the pop-off problem on the MGT with aluminum caps so theres a descent chance that they would work with the truggy... guess I would probably try that firts and buy the bodies later if I had too...

but shiny new metal shocks all around would be even better if I could afford some!

Status: offline 		the plastic shock bodies are a common part that breaks along with the rear outter hinge pins bending .. but the shock towers are holding up great, i have the towers for the champ truck on order, just waiting for them to come available
