Zippkits has a very nice tunnel hull.  Not sure about the scale but it,s made for this size engine.  www.zippkits.com

I am building one now.  I am also building my own outboard unit just like you.  We are not on the same path, because mine is different from yours.  But I think we want the same end result.  I will be posting pictures soon.

Don't let the fact that it's wood turn you off.  Arguably the best gas hydro you can buy is Blazer Marine's Whiplash which is a wooden kit.  You can get it in a glass version, but all the guys serious about going fast get the wooden kit.

Zipkits do quality kits & stand behind their product.  They do all the testing so that you don't have to.  If I were in the market for a tunnel & cost was an issue, I would definitely have a good look at the Zipkits tunnel, then again if cost wasn't an issue I'd still have a good look at it.

just my $0.02

Sharpy,

It's interesting you should ask about cable or gears.  I am building this one as a cable but have looked at gears for a while now.  I used to work for a company that went thru several of those die grinders a month.  I took apart about 30 of them and kept the gears, bearings and shafts.  I am looking at possibly building one similar to yours with gears in the future.  I am also toying with the idea of 1 input shaft for twin output shafts.  It would have counter rotating props and I think it would be neat.
