Does anyone have any data on how much the cam and tx and cables weigh? I am thinking about getting one of these systems to put into a Wattage Super Decathlon. But am not sure about the weight.

Wish I had that info. Havent possesed a scale since I got my CDL.
Dumping the RCA connectors probably halves the weight of the system.
WARNING:
There is a voltage regulator in what looks like a stress relief bead molded into the lead to the camera. Remove that and the camera is toast.
Other than that, I have used the system, unmodified, on a Super Scooter slope glider without ill effects.

Bummer. Thanks though. I was thinking of getting the system, and trying to replace the camera with the Panasonic CX 161 from black widow av. It requires 5v @ 250mah ? What about a seperate small e-tech lipo pack for it?

Such as This pack

Possibly, but I would go for a pack with a higher mAh rating such as:
THIS pack!
You are also going to need a 5v voltage regulator for the camera such as Radio Shack sells. The voltage regulator built into the Spylinker camera might not give you the voltage you need with a 7.4v source although you could experiment with it. One thing weve learned using this system is that when the battery starts to go, the camera is what quits first. Image gets darker, goes to B/W, develops these vertical lines which multiply until the image goes completely black. The tx signal, however, remains strong even after there is no image.

Fubar,

Well I got a brand new Sony handy cam capable of A/V in and hooked it all up today. It works great and looks great.

I put it on my Logo 10 heli and strapped it all down.

But, when I started up the heli all the servos jitter and it is very unstable. All the servos are doing it,cyclic and tail.

Needless to say I can't fly it like that so I unplugged the transmitter and started it up again. With it off it does not do this.

I rerouted the cables from the camera to the transmitter as far away from the antenna and receiver as possible and tried again but it still has the jitters.

Have you ever experienced anything like that? Obviously there is some sort of interference from the tx but there shouldn't be. Frequencies are no where near each other.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

What channel are you running on?
I have had no problems with 50.820 (CH-1) or CH-38 on 72mhz. My father, however, got some glitching weekend before last with his new Kadet running on CH-42 but we havent determined the cause as yet. The video system does not seem to be the cuprit in this case tho as the glitches seem independent of whether the video tx is on or off.
The only other interference problem I have had was with using the 900mhz Supercircuits system with my 50mhz radio system. Total and complete overload of the flight system. No problems on 38 with it, however.
I wish I had an answer for you!
You running a gyro? Only real difference I can think of between a heli and plane flight system.

Yes.
"Grass Wired" and "Eyelectra" used that system.

Fubar,

I am running 72Mhz on ch 49. When it it plugged in the servos jitter. When it is unplugged they don't.

Yea I'm running a Futaba gyro.

I tried the camera in my Corona heli and it works fine. I had one small glitch but no jitters. I run it on ch49 too so I am now at a loss.

I got some video with it in the Corona though. Aside from needing to focus the lense on the camera it looks ok.

See ya,

Maybe the rx on the one Heli just doesnt like the video tx for some reason.
