They are very simple to get, Tower Hobbies sells them, so don't go wild trying to find some odd place that sells them.  Just do a search for "Hobby Syringe" at Tower Hobbies and it will come up.

Add some Details? Maybe a wiskey compas and knobs on some of the Instruments. Maybe a GPS too. OH Seat and Pilot? he he he LOL OOPS in trouble again.

Status: offline 		The top glass is installed.....  The glue is still foggy but that will clear up as the glue dries. 

Battery tray will go in next weekend and this one is done.  (Minus some minor details)

You have made a very beautiful model  that you will enjoy for a long time.
I have followed your progress with great interest.

Thanks for the info on the syringe guys.
Whether it is 25 or 20 for $45.00 it becomes expensive to glue locations where a syringe is helpful.

The way I do my gluing a syringe is not really essential. I will contimue doing it like I have been for many years.
An example is attached.

Next Plane ... Something Supper 3D. Enough of this Just flying around the Patch with a few Slips. Now is the time to really Develop these Hidden Skills of Yours. All your buddys do is a loop and an occasional roll or two. Your way more talented than that.

Whatever you mean or imply by those three words.

If you are referring to the picture I posted, you may consider that the gluing looks like a mess.
That gluing does not show on the outside but the filleted gluing is solid, has lots of grabbing area and is not heavy in terms of the total weight of a model. It is certaily lots stronger than one drop of CA here and there.

It is in a crash that we see how CAed joints fall apart.

Perhaps many consider that CA glued joints are "perfection" or "non-filleted joints" are perfect.

When two surfaces are facng each other the contact areas is only a small percentage of the area. A large part is a tiny gap that has to be filled by solids from the cured glue.

How much solid result from the curing of a CA drop ? If it is known I would like to see the results.

Using aliphatic resin glue we can see the volume shrinkage from the liquidy glue applied and its volume after curing. Different glues have different ratios.

I much prefer to have messy hidden joints that are solid and hold in a crash than see dozens of pieces fallen apart in a crash landing.

An explanation of your 3 word posting would be appreciated.

Absolutely fantastic build! I have thoroughly enjoyed following it and am not shy to say that I will miss logging on to see what progress you have made. Congratulations again and definitely post some pics or video of the maiden flights and completed aircraft, I would love to see them.

Status: offline 		I was hoping to have the Cub ready for it's maiden voyage this Monday but I don't think I'm going to make it.  I still need to tidy up the battery tray, adjust some of the wiring, and double check the balance.  I checked it today while I was working on the control throws but it was a little hard to tell if it was level or not.  I was holding the plane up via some small rope threaded around the front wing bolts, which are right on the CG.  I will break out my balancing jig I made for my Aeroworks Edge.  This one will suspend the plane off the roof and will allow me to tie the plane in place so I can put a level on the plane without holding it suspended (I'll post a photo of my Edge handing off the balancer....  ahh, the memories of my old house).  The initial balance check looked good.

The biggest hangup is the wing carrier.  I wanted to work on it today but I never got a chance.  Likely I will start on the carrier this coming Tuesday (Ron, you can come over if you want and we can cut your break-in stand parts at the same time).  Without a carrier I can't get this plane to the field.

I also ran up the motor for the first time today.  I used some batteries that were half charged and I got 2700 watts at 65 amps, right on target.  I will charge up the batteries tomorrow and give it a full power run.  I will take a few photos of the battery setup for you all at the same time.

Shooting for an April 2nd maiden.

Status: offline 		 Here is what the final wiring looks like, including the battery tray mount installed in the fuselage.

You can see I color coded the aileron / flap extensions to ensure they get plugged in correctly (Thanks for the extensions Mike!).  The color coding was done with multicolor heat shrink installed on each wire.  The wing extensions have the corresponding colors.  Simply match the colors when plugging them in.

Looks great inside, very clean. That is an area where my modeling can definitely use some improvement! I'll try harder to clean things up on the next models.

Hey what about the decals though? On my planes I've doing my AMA number posted like N-numbers on the wing and fuse. When I do my super cub I'm going to keep the little bear decal on the vert stab. Have a large "AMA-308454" on the starb wing and do the small one on the vert stab like the pics you showed in an earlier post. I haven't decided if I'd do any advertising decals, "Powered by Saito" "Futaba", on the cub as of yet.

Status: offline 		I'm going to head off to the store in a bit to get some wood for the wing carrier but I took some time to finish up a minor detail, the door handle.  The handle was hand bent from a piece of 2-56 music wire.  The "Rubber" portion of the handle is some heat-shrink tubing I CA'ed and shrunk onto the handle.  A small washer was soldered onto the rod right where the threads end.

The handle is just there to give me something to grab onto a pull the window frame off the model.

I was going to go with dual handles but it was too messy looking so I went with one on the top frame only.  The lower door is just pulled off.

Status: offline 		Today I had a chance to start building the solution to my wing transportation problem.  I made a cradle for my 1/5th Cub but the slots are not wide enough for the 1/4 scale Cub wings.  The new one should work for both models.  So far I have rough cut the sides to the wing carrier.  Each wing will slide into the carrier which will be edged with foam to protect the wings.  Wood is 3/4" maple.

The parts are put together with large rabbet joints.

Status: offline 		 It could be adjusted but that carrier was made before I had some of my bigger tools so it is not as nice as one I can now make. And it is made from MDF.  Who wants that?  A nice Maple one is much better. 

These projects just give me a chance to try new joinery so it is worth it. Lastly, building something is alwas fun.

Status: offline 		Plane is balanced.  With the batteries up to the firewall there is no need for lead.  

I'm going to do some quick testing on the motor then the remainder of the afternoon will be spend on my wing carrier.
