I wish I had been behind the Raptor, but it is the product of Richard Oliver (pylon racer and CL stunt competitor) The Raptor progressed from 40" to 48" in the same wing plan, then went to 48"/52" with no taper in the thickness and no sweep in the trailing edge and it flies even better. The best ways to strengthen all of them it the fiberglass lead edge, balsa trailing edge, if not spruce at least pine spars, but the thoughts are still not sure on Ripstop nylon for the armor as weight is a concern. The Raptor is built to fly not crash so that one is up to you. My feeling is use the RSN and dont worry about it. The heavier it is the wider the loops are. Nobodys turns as good outside, that I have seen, and that is a great offensive as well as a great defensive ploy.
