I have just started on building my springer tug boat.

here's just a quick picture of the hull profile template I have been working on.

Nice work, does your springer have a skeg? and or shoe for polo?

yes my springer does have a skeg, and the gearboxtrain is very robust

Hey Alex,

  Ive been follow the progress of your "Springer" when is it gonna be finished?
i see it up the back of the workshop collecting dust from "cyclone Michael" lol,

Ps, we gave it a test run in the tank and your water cooling is very effective, even at slow speed

it should be getting wet quite soon hopfully , Just had to fix a leak in the rudder tube

Springers typically weigh eight pounds to get them down to the waterline...
You need to add more batteries, or ballast.

i am probs going to add alot of lead sinkerers to get the springer down to the water level

did you use 1/2''' ply i am looking at make one 2x 36x16x9 yours is the 18'' one right i may make one that size too

i used 7mm ply for the sides, front, back and i used 3mm ply for the bottom.
yep mine is 18" long
