Status: offline 		I have been flying Hobby Zone Firebird Phantom for the last 6 months. 2 days ago it acted very strangely. After 5 to 10 seconds of flying suddenly it took very sharp right turn with nose down and then it hit the ground. I thought it could be my mistake. I flew it again and it did same thing again. I then checked the controls. Everything was working fine on ground. I flew it again and it did same thing again. I thought it could be range problem. I then checked the range and it was ok. All this is very strange to me. Does any know what is the cause of problem? I will really appricate if anyone can help.

Status: offline 		Are your Transmitter batteries fresh?
If they are fading, they might allow for good control up close, but when you fly out and  increase distance/range, they can't deliver enough to maintain control.

Status: offline 		How about a renge test. If that checks out ok,  there is mention about adjusting flap position and stick trim lever in the troubleshooting section of the manual.
Is the rx antenna ok?

Status: offline 		Did you check the Rx batts? Are you using a 2.4 gig system. Your symtoms match low voltage dip conditon and the subsequent response . The Rx does not alwyas reset it upon seeing low voltage. The voltage dip may not be low enough to cause a reset. But it can cause the symptomes you describe without going in to fail safe. But then maybe it did and came out when the voltage came back up.

Is your batt ok? How do you know? How many digital servos are you using?

Status: offline 		Did you do forming charge on the NiMH batts ? Suggest 3 full cycles ( Loaded discarge and slow charge(c/10)).

Just a thought.

Status: offline 		yes i have tried those as well. But i dont think its relevant to that, coz plane flies ok (straight) for 5 to 10 seconds and then suddenly it takes sharp right turn with nose down.

that day i did the same. discharged the batteries and recharged them slowly. with both batteries same thing happened.

How was the wind on that day? Stonger ? Coming from the left?

Did you try a flight yet with the "ACT" turned off?
