Status: offline 		I recently won an Ebay auction for a built 1946 contol line model complete with a mounted early Vivell 35.  Very interesting what modeling was back in 1946, but what was included with the auction came as a surprise.  Included with the box from the model (Miss Behave)  was the plans, a bunch of balsa wood, dark with age, a hand drawn side view of a proposed model of a Japanese Baka Bomb with a Vivell 35 drawn in as the power plant and the operating instructions for the Vivell 35.  Also with all this great stuff was a book dated 1946 from America's Hobby Center titled "The Gas Modeler's Guide".  It talks about control line of course, but also radio control!  It says it is the supplement to "The Model Gas Engine Handbook, both of these volumes written by Bernard B. Winston.  Sure like to have the Handbook too.  The book lists model airplane clubs in 1946 like the Berkley "Tether Terrors".  I wonder how many clubs from 1946 are still around?  Take a look at the pictures and check out that prop I found in the box!

Status: offline 		Mike, really great stuff!!  Here is my dads group/club from the late 40s. All but have passed on now except for 2. My Dad and the guy who took the pics are the only two left both 82 now. They switched to RC in 1952.  Here is an interesting post with similar stuff and pics I posted last year. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7144487/tm.htm   Post number 11 & 12 are the late fortys. Status: offline 		With all the R/C projects I have on the "to do" list it will be a while before I get to it.  I plan to rebuild it enough for display purposes thoough.  Maybe even see If I can get the motor to run.

Status: offline 		back then control line was setup for clockwise rotation later it was changed to the current counter closwise rotation.which side of the wing do the wires exit?

Status: offline 		The wheels are still pliant and could still probably be used. The prop is like new, but it hits the ground with the plane level on its wheels.
