ok the Aerobird and the T-hawk are similar... the T-hawk is cheeper and come with 2 batteries... does the T-Hawk have an ESC or just on/off ? i found on ********* the aerobird with X-pack for $149 .... hmmmm i like the regilar t-tail better... anyone ever fly both of these and which one is better? the t-hawk you can replace the parts inside cause it has a hatch.. and a new fusealage is only $8 i dont know any advise would be great...

p.s. my brother has the aerobird and it flys great just wondering if anyone has tried the t-hawk and the aerobird and can give some insight..

As I understand, T-Hawk has no throttle--it's on or off.

I have an aerobird. I think the best of both worlds would be if you could put a rudder/elevator tail on an aerobird. I almost ordered a T-hawk tail to try it, and still might, if the X pack doesn't do it for me. That's a project for after my already ordered Sky Scooter Pro II gets here.

Good luck.

yea... i have the slow stick assembled(waiting on a CALM day)
my friend has a GWS Beaver that im gonna build soon as my flight pack gets here bought it off ebay from ****ascal he has great prices and hes a cool dude i can fly his planes whenever i was he dont care :-D im just not sure on how well it will handle the wind either.... the T-hawk would be great if it had a esc and if the controller was in mode 2 it only comes in mode 1(elevator on the left and throttle on the right) maybe a better thing to do would be to add a esc on the t-hawk and buy the same frequency radio from the aerobird... just buy the T-hawk plane without radio and buy a radio from hobbyzone whoohooo !

The T-Hawk was my first plane. I have since flown the E-Starter, P-51 and the Spitfire. I still however fly the T-Hawk. I put a $29.00
Hitec Feather 4 reciever in it and fly it with my Flash 5 TX. The original speed control if fully proportional and works great. I also bought a 7 cell 8.4v 800mah battery and boy does this plane have power and long flights! Its always fun to fly and for the price you cant go wrong

The T-Hawk is my first plane and is a great flyer (to me). I wish I was. My plane currently is stuck 40' up in a tree. The stock esc is fully proportional, but not with the included radio. I use a Hitec Laser 4 and have had a great experience learning to fly--except for the tree thing.

And the spare parts also have been handy --2 wings, 2 tails, 3 props, 2 battery packs.

unless your completly uncoordinated get a hitec sky scooter pro 2. It is easy to fly and has servos and electronics that can be used in your next plane as opposed to the t or aerobird that when you are ready to progress are just gonna gather dust

Sky Scooter Pro II

When I bought my Aerobird this was the other plane I was considering. I may still buy one some day. I think it is a great plane.

This review is of the two channel model. The Pro is a RTF three channel model.

The photo is a little blurry. Can you explain what it is you are trying to show us? Sorry if I am a little dense. I see two motors. Are these the two brushless? I one the standard t-hawk motor?

Also, I presume you have to replace the ESC to use a brushless motor. What did you use? Any change in battery?

To answer your first question, yes these are brushless motors the smaller one is smaller than a 280 with the same if not more power of a 400. The larger motor is about the same size of a 400 i don't know what i can compare the power too yet because i have not used it but i can offer you this description of it. If you had a 400 going at full speed max throttle on your controller this motor can be 1/2 way throttle and produce same amounts of thrust as your 400 so that means longer flight times higher speeds

The t-hawk comes with a 400 size brushed motor

I ordered my t-hawk with out the radio gear and esc. My brushless motors each has there own esc's. Some people probably wonder why put such expensive gear in a park flyer that cost less than the motor & esc.
the answer is i just love this plane. Its almost impossible to damage my motor with the t-hawk because of its placement with a standard 400 it performs well so going brusless is just over kill

With my original t-hawk i had 2 ducted 400 fans mounted on each side of the wing and a 12 oz 8 cell battery pack my hawk, was about 1 pound + and she flew but the wings got beat up quite a bit from many mid air collisions with branches at high velocities the fuse developed a crack in the nose from a hard crash so i am getting another. this time i have a wire-less cam to install and i am looking for new mods to install to it like a speed wing or a wing that has ailerons

Sounds like you have pushed that T-Hawk beyond what anyone would have expected possible.

I hope you will post some photos of you plane and the mods you do. I am sure everyone would love to see them. I know I would.

I Have The T Hawk and it is my first plane. I have about 70 - 80 sorties so far. I just got a new fusalage and wings so basically a brand new plane. This thing takes a beating like you cannot believe. I also got a laser 4 so It now has speed control. It loops and is lots of fun. I biult custom tricycle landing gear and it lands much better. I actually like it better wit 2 extra ounced of weight due to repairs and the gear. More stable . I have also flown it in 10mph wind plus. It will fly but you are taking chanced. I have learned to quit while I'm ahead. I'll try and post some pictures wednesday

JBoss,

I look forward to seeing yo photos. I sometimes don't quit when I am ahead. Like this past weekend. I put my aerobird up in about 12-15 MPH winds. Unfortunately I had a little wrinkle in the wing. Should not have flown it in the wind, but I did. The weak point gave way and I crashed badly from about 150 feet up.

To the repair bench.

I think I will call mine Phoenix for its ability to rise from the crashes.
