well after some 15 years or more in this hobbie, finally became a different flyer, i always had high wind airplanes...some low wings, helis, but not much, recently i just bought an Edge 540 40.-60- from Aeroworks which i used with s3305 servos and .81 A engine, this airplane change my past 15 years of fun, really understood what adenaline means, well after a few days, got the Phoenix Sukhoi...when i turned my head back it was too late lol, no more trainers, slow scale airplanes, warbirds, etc.

Right now i just want something big, but honestly dont know which one will be more fun for me. Right now i do not make any hard 3D, i cant make hovers, etc. Just sport/scale flights, inverted, falls, etc.

Thanks for your time and looking fwd for all the great support here.

I have the Extra 260 with a DA50 in it, tuned pipe.....IMHO, you can't go wrong going with the 50CC. Easy to see, land and are enjoyable to fly. I finally have about 3 gallons of fuel though my motor (broken in) and it pulls the plane w/ulimited vertical.

Good luck with whatever you buy.

Regards

The usual bigger will fly better will apply. With that said the 35cc (27%) planes cost much less to get into and are allot of fun. I just lost a GP 330 that I had a DL50 on. I could have bought a 50cc plane, but I chose the 35cc 260 instead. They are a blast to fly and are very easy to transport. I think they fill a very nice nitch in the market. Had I not had other 50cc and 100cc planes at home already I may have made a different choice, who knows. If you were heavy into 3D I would say get the 50cc 260, but from what you said I think you may have just as much fun with the 35cc 260 for less money. Good luck either way you will have a great plane.

I say if you have the money get a 50cc. The price difference isn't too much, however you need the room to store and transport it.

I have been lucky enough to do reviews on both the 50cc 260 and the 35cc 300. I can tell you without thinking twice they are both great flying planes and you will be happy with either. I will be starting a full build / review thread on the new 50cc 300 soon.

Here is some video / indepth look at the 2 you mentioned.

35cc - Had some motor issues so couldn't really ring it out (turned out to be a warped carb block)

They have an awesome deal on the 35cc 260 with a 40cc engine and free shipping. Costs less complete with a motor shipped to your door (679.90) than the 50 does just for the plane. If you are low on funds it is a great way to go. But, if you wish to move up to 50cc class down the road you are better off getting the 50. Either that or call Tom and see if they will do a deal on the 35cc 260 with a DLE55. It makes an incredible combo, but you have to use some restraint with that much power on tap. That way you will have a fantastic 50cc class engine and a plane for a couple hundred less than going to the 50cc 260 now and you can get larger planes down the road and will have an engine for them. If you have the cash and want to go all the way get the 50cc 260 and a DLE55 right away. You have several options, you just need to go with which ever one suits you wallet and heart the most.

I have built and flown both the AW 35cc Extra with the 40 crrc engine, and the AW 50cc 300L Extra with a DL50. They both are great platforms. One thing that comes to mind with me is that there are many 50cc airframes you can use the 55cc on in the future. Finding a future home for the 40cc may be a little more difficult and the selection will not be as great as a 50cc airframe. The bottom line is only you can really answer your question about the difference of $250.

you are correct!!!, im more in the get something to use in the future in other things too... i think maybe the $250 usd difference worth to spend, i will need to keep the extra in the box with motor for a few weeks to save for servos...but anyway it worth the wait.

thanks!!!
