Hey Gary. Look forward to seeing you guys in May! Good to hear you're putting a radial in the Zombie.

Same here Dave. Yea, Zombie will be even more fun to fly I think. I'm going to try to get one of Wayne's 4-blade props for her as well.

Anyone flying one of the 150s that has some suggestions on tank size? We run the 50oz on the 250. I'm thinking the 32oz we have in her will be fine. We always have plenty of fuel left as it is.

Yea, she is a handsome plane for sure. I love the way they even made the main gear struts compress as they retract as the full scale does.

Too bad they modeled their plane after a well known plastic model on the internet that is not a correct representation of Zombie 225742. The builder of that plastic model (an amazing work of art for the craftsmanship) even got the pilot of our Zombie 225742 (unknown) mixed up with this Zombie. A good lesson in not modeling other models, but going to historical records instead. Although they should have copied the unit markings on the plastic model. They got those wrong too.

Here is the other Zombie.

Here is the plastic model.

Look familiar, except for the correct lettering of course?

Gary I run a 50oz and always have fuel too but better be safe than sorry. P.J. had me put 50 because at
Top Gun ypu may get stuck waiting on clearance for your landing. Matt ran out of fuel once because he got stuck circling waiting to land. Also Four blade not gonna work, the 150 is not as strong as you may think. you'll be full power alot sucking fuel. I was only 44lbs. My wood fuse that I lost this summer was 38lbs with a gt80 and power wise it was a pretty fair fight between the two. I mean this as they flew about the same you had do get a slight dive to build speed for loops. takeoffs and climb outs were about the same too. You will like the engine but don't expect a big improvement.

Thanks Jeff. This is good stuff. You just saved me about $600 on a new prop.

As for power, better loop performance was one thing I was hoping for. It was hard to get over the top without falling out as she bled speed so quickly on the way up. Even another 5lbs of thrust would help. I'm hopeful she will have that.

At any rate, that wonderful radial sound will be good to hear coming out of Zombie.

Thank again for the valuable input.

Some footage of Zombie at Monster Planes 2011, as well as many other cool planes. Check out the dead stick of a 12' P-47 later in the video. great job and the plane flew again.

Also seen is the Comp ARF Corsair "Big Hog" that we took to the event.

Hi Rick,
I am sorry for your loss! I really wished you had many more enjoyable flights than just the five that you had....
Once again, sorry to hear about the bad news.

Thanks Dino, and thanks for such a great kit !!! I had not done a stick kit in a while. I found the P-47 very easy and staight forward. It also was a great flyer too !!! Anthony Greco was the Maiden pilot and 3 following. He said he only made very minor trim adjustements and enjoyed flying the plane !!!

Good Job !!!

Thanks for the thoughts you guys ! These planes are a labor of love, for us who enjoy the building process. Seeing it come up from a pile of sticks is pretty cool. While it was not my plane ,I still feel a great loss! Well, the only thing I can do is start another one !!! I think, Maybe the Meister 109 ?????? Could be. Have to save up !!!!
Thanks again Dino for a great product !!!

Hello everyone. Thought I would post some pictures from Top Gun. Zombie performed flawlessly. Wish I could say the same for my flying. I was 2nd up every morning, and didn't get enough sleep. Lesson learned.

Well, maybe later. RCU is screwed up again.

Some pictures of Zombie at Top Gun 2012, from the camera of David Hart. It was a great experience to be among so many outstanding builders and pilots.

BTW, I did some very low inverted passes for fun. Guess no one got pictures. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Well, at least I have a witness.

Next time I'll give you a heads up.

I'm going to practice inverted spins with Zombie as well. Should make for some exciting moments. I never see this done with the big P-47s. I know she will do it with ease. I was thinking of doing one in the middle of the pattern at Top Gun during the WWII gaggle, but chickened out.

Ha! That would have been something to see. I'm pretty sure you weren't one of the guys Frank was yelling at to get lower.
