Hello Mirce. Good to here from you. No, we have not received the wood package yet. Ours is one of only two of their kind, and Wayne has the other. He is working with the wing parts and as soon as they are verified as correct, ours will be cut and sent out, I was told.

I have let Dino know to not be pressured on the Zero as we have a CARF Corsair and a Meister P-47 to build in the meantime.

Hello again guys. Been awhile since posting to this thread.

We are busy building, but I am thinking ahead a little here. Before spring, I would like to do an engine change to Zombie. I have a Moki 150 that I would like to fit up to her. Now here is the thing, this will mean a different cowl. I will not be able to use the cowl I have fitted to her now. It has operational cowl flaps, and a one-of-a kind scale dummy R-2800 radial. It has the checkerboard and is nicely weathered. A guy going with one of the schemes with a checkerboard cowl would not need to do much to it other than fit it to your mount. The nose and flaps were covered with aluminum foil for authentic looking paint chipping.

Any Meister powered with an 80 - 85 CC single cylinder should be able to use this cowl. I would sell it with the servos installed for the cowl flaps.

She has (2) first place, (2) second place, an award at Monster Planes, is featured on the home page of David Hart, the well known model photographer, and a trip to Top Gun. Zombie has also been pictured in at least (4) domestic and (2) international magazines, along with the current ad running in many magazines for the 2013 Toledo show, that is Zombie with this cowl in the ad. She also has a photo spread on the Meister web site under 'completed aircraft'.

Any interest? Send me a PM.

Thanks guys.

Captain Ron,

Sorry, not sure what happened.

I just came up with this idea last evening, because a long lost engine that I had forgotten about, just showed back up on my doorstep, along with a lot of other stuff, a real treasure chest / box. Anyway, I now have a different engine for the Zero, so the Moki can go in the P-47.

I got a message from a friend right away, and it looks like he can use it. I thought about posting it in the classifieds for $400 OBO, with a credit back of the $65 if a guy had a new one he was willing to exchange. Didn't get that far. I get these ideas and think out loud. Never really sold anything quite like this, so I didn't know quite what to ask. Seams like a lot for a cowl, but I have upwards of $250 in parts and materials and a lot of time into it. I guess I was looking for some feedback, but I hadn't yet put a price on it. Got the cart before the horse, AGAIN.

Gary

PS Buy the way, in the pictures you see a missing cylinder at the bottom so the engine gets the cooling air it needs. I made another cylinder and snaps in place with Velcro for static display. I just pop it back out to fly. Worked great.

CAPTAIN RON,

Great minds think alike, right.

Not sure where that leaves me though.

Hello guys. We will be cranking up this thread again very soon. Zombie will be getting some refitting. The cowl will be remodeled with cowl flaps that are attached to the fuselage and operational as before. Without the cowl flaps, the cowl will be easy to remove over the new Moki 150. I'm planning on developing the scale exhaust as well, and adding it to our line. We will be adding a Smart Fly Equalizer II to the tail gear. Also I sent the mains back to Down & Locked for an upgrade to the new more powerful motors Mitch is using as of March of this year. Picked them up at the Toledo show this past week end. You can't tell be looking, as the new motor fits in the old housing. Guess it is MUCH more powerful, and just a bit faster.

In addition to the work on Zombie, we will be building a new P-47 with the fiberglass Fuselage. Looking forward to this as well.

Glad to help. Post pictures if you want. I enjoy seeing other work as well, and am always looking for new ways to do things that may be better.

Zombie at Top Gun last year.

She is in the shop for the engine refit. I have the new Moki ignition on the way, and I will also be installing the fuel pump for the Moki 150. I have looked at the cowl flap system, and I think the mod will be fairly straight forward. Attaching them to the fuselage like I did to the Corsair is the way to go.
