I just received my long awaited Big Stik 60 from TH. Unfortunately, the peg on the left wing leading edge that holds into the fuse was broken off. So I called Tower and explained the problem. She took one minute to confirm something and said they'd send out a new wing set ASAP. They don't need the old wing or anything sent back to them and they'll take care of the shipping. This won't cost me anything. Now that is customer service! This is my first order with Tower and I'm a big fan. I think I may only order from Tower from now on.

They shipped me a biplane with one wing , but they had me send it back and sent another one out when it got back to them.

I agree, Tower is great. I always check Tower first, and if they don't have something only then do I start looking somewhere else.

I did notice they stopped showing an email link to customer service. I suppose they were overwhelmed with emails.

Edited to add:

Hmm, maybe I was dreaming... I just checked their website, and they do list an info email address.

Anyway, every time I've emailed them in the past they've been great in terms of quick and accurate responses.

Tower Hobbies has the best Customer Service/Customer Relations of any company I have ever done business with.
I became a Tower customer way back in the 70s. They have always done an outstanding job for me in every respect.
There are some major corporations that could learn some lessons from Tower on how to treat customers.

Tower Hobbies being great????? So what........YOU GOT A BIG STICK 60!!! WOO HOO

Now THATS great!

IMO the big stick .60 is the best all around plane a guy can own. Your gonna love it not just now,but you'll even like taking it out a couple years from now. I alwyys say owning a big stick should be a requirement in order to join the ama.

Good Choice M8

You might need to give the guys a little more detail like the kind of engine and possibly how you set your needle valve also does it cut out when the plane is in a specific orientation? like climbing diving?... but in general you could be getting air bubbles. A good way to check is after the plane is started hold it nose up and watch the fuel intake lines to see if any bubbles are getting into the carb. I'm sure others will chime in to help you out Im a super noob with these.

el xero well the engine is a thpro .46 2 sroke the high speed needle is set a little rich. but when the plane is vertical it runs fine no change at all the the low end needle valve is fine about2.500 rpm at idle my instructor checked he said it was fine the engine seems to die out at a certain level as far as the amount in the tank.
it flies good no problems with take off or landing just have to keep a check on the time of my flight about 15 minutes 3/4 throttle i don,t get a chace to run the plane completely out of fuel/

Just by the nature of the setup you're never going to run a tank completely dry.

That said, why are you trying to???

You should always land with at least a quarter tank (Leave some fuel for a missed landing attempt or two)

If you need more flight time, get a bigger tank.

I'll second that. I started shopping with tower in the mid 1970's and if I've had any issues they have always taken care of it right away by shipping out a new item. They have never asked me to send anything back either.

Tower is #1 in my view also. The bulk of the larger on line Hobby shops are very good also. I think they have decided that they can cut prices much more, and the shipping companies are making shiping expensive, especailly for big kits/ARFs. So the ony thing left to make you an outstanding choice is to have great customer service. Gota love it.

My hats off to the Model industry. They could have gone the route of the airline industry. Want to make a reservaion/place and order over the phone, That will be $30 thank you. Want to check your bags $40 to $100. Each way, or the hobby industry, Would you like us to put your order in box to ship it?. The list goes on. My faviorite one was "Do you want to check in, $20 please. That would translate to "Thank you for your purchase, You have paid $30 to place your order, $40 to put it into a box, and it will be and extra $20 if you would like us to ship it to you, but you need to pay and additonal $20 for actual shipping, enjoy your $0.69 wheel collars. It has been our pleasure to flece you and the next time you want to buy a

Now if the Hobby industry could only take over the airlines.

Don
