Status: offline 		I was looking for a nice foamie plan I could make myself and have the free plans for. I found them at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=420980

It's the Yak 54 from Gene bond.

Here is what I bought to use for it

4 10.5x47" 5mm Cellfoam from Midwest Products which I hope will work
Common Sense RC Motor Model #E5-M-18 which is 1500Kv and rated for 12-26oz planes
Common Sense RC 20A ESC
4x E-Flite S60 servos (rated at .10 sec and 12.5oz torque)
APC 10x4.7 prop (too much for this motor/esc combo?)
Common Sense RC 3S 1300mah 25C LiPo
DuBro's Small Nylon hinges (is there something else I might could use? or will these work fine? Just melt away the foam for them to go in?)
Deans Connectors (I could use some small JST connectors but I already have an adaptor set up for my charger)
CA (foam safe of course)


Carbon Rods (2 24" of each)
.050 solid
.098 solid
.110 solid
.124 tube

What I'm wondering about these is which ones to use for different parts of the plane. I was thinking about the .125 for the length of the fuse (which I"m wondering if 24" will be enough considering the ENTIRE length of the plane is 36" (there IS a 30" version)...and either the .098 or .110 for the tail bracing and then the .050 for the pushrods.

I"m going to make control horns out of lite ply and just glue them into the foam on the control surfaces.

I'm not sure if this set up will work but I hope it does. I'm hoping to get this plane done this week to have to mess around with for July 4th.
