They are not of the same quality of an HL tank. They need extensive modification to even be close. They do look good and with the correct mods they can be good tanks.

Where did you get the sprocket and the additional wheels?

I already owned the Hobby Engine M1A1, however I recently bought the HE Leopard 2A5, which arrived yesterday. Mechanically, the HE M1A1 and Leopard 2A5 are identical. Though its only an A5, the confusion comes from the original Doyusha that HE copied. It had the A6 barrel extension.

My review of the M1A1 can be found HERE.

I had my M1A1 out to be torn down to prepare it for the AFV Model M1 Hull Kit that DHL is currently dicking around with instead of delivering. So I got a couple side by side comparison pictures for you.

You'll notice the paint, detaling and overall craftsmanship of the Leopard 2A5 is better than the M1A1.

Interesting fact: The HE Leopard 2A5 upper hull can be fitted to the lower hull of the HE M1A1 with only a slight addition to the Leopard 2A5's upper hull to close a 1/4 inch gap. Which means it'll fit the AFV Hull kit for the HE M1A1 after the addition to close the gap. M1A1 and Leopard 2A6 for the price of one?

The sprockets are Tamiya LEO 2A6 sprockets and so are the tracks. The wheel spacers I had made by a friend of mine. I just split the 2 sections of road wheels and added in the spacers.
