Status: offline 		I spend 4 to 5 weeks each summer in Maine on a lake and would like nothing better than to fly a pattern ship on floats. I am considering modifying my Angel S 50e to fly on floats, but I'd love to buy an "off the shelf" pattern float plane and I know there are competitions in float pattern around the world.

Anybody know of a Floatplane Pattern Ship?


Any thoughts or insight on how to possibly modify my Angel?

I just don't know where to buy one and searches turned up only photos.

Status: offline 		Yes it is a matter of taking a pattern plane and putting it on floats. I have a Focus II that I plan to do for the same reasons.

A year ago or so I did contact some of the Swiss folks that do compete with float planes. Very friendly and as another said just get a set of floats that are big enough. They were making their own, streamlined, etc.

Actually, with the pattern goal of keeping up and downlines at the same speed, the extra drag of floats probably helps. Not sure what it will do with rolls, etc.

I probably have a minisized plan for the SeaHunter. It is from Japanese RC Technique.
Do you wat a copy of it? it is about two pages of Letter size paper.

You may be able to find Sea Hunter from Singapore Hobby. Can't remember which manufacturer produced the Sea Hunter. I think it was Tettra.

Japanese did lots of pattern contest on float back in 80s and early 90s.
