After a couple of years off and on in R/C tanks, I finally have two VS tanks at the same time! In addition to my Tiger 1 mid production (snow camo), I now have a Leopard A6. Me and my son have got the battle outdoors in the back yard where my R/C car track used to be, and man they are fun! I assume it is not as good as 1/16 scale tank battles, but the VS are fun. It is a challenge to battle the Tiger against the Leopard because the Leopard will literally run circles around the Tiger in speed and agility. I'm surprised for the price that more armor clubs or people wishing to form a club don't buy these tanks to battle. They are fairly reliable, are the best looking RTR tanks in my opinion, and a fairly large battlefield could be made in the same place. While technically at the moment you are limited to 6 battling at one time (six frequencies), you could do the old R/C car trick (and this WILL work on the VS tanks, I have tried it) You can add six more frequencies by switching the other six tanks' receiver crystals and radio crystals (but the receiver in the radio and vice versa). If you do this, two tanks on the same channel won't interfere with each other, so technically you can have 12 battling at the same time!

Actually they have inbetween 27mhz am crystals so you can run 12 tanks at one time! ld radio shack X mods had 1 through 12 and so does iwaver sell them...
Are you using airsoft? If so take a look at these new BB's marking bb's!

No, I bought the infrared tanks (easier to get through Tower Hobbies). Have you got the Sherman or KV-2 yet?

You don't have any cool stuff you want to get rid of do you? I only have two tanks right now, with a Panzer IV on the way. Been wasting money on R/C helicopters now there is an endless money pit!

Helicopters are strange. If you build an R/C car, truck, or tank, they pretty much hold together until something wears out. With a R/C heli, it could fly fine one day, and the next day go nuts and wind up smashed on the ground. I love 'em, but I have to take a break from helis every so often because they drive me nuts and send me toward financial ruin.

Titan20,

I have six Vstank IRs (2 Leos, 1 M1a2, 3 T-72s). We had a 4 tank battle with some nefews a few days ago that was fun. I think they are great and not just for beginners.

Cool battle. I don't know if I ever saw a hit though! I found the battle system on the VS tanks to be o.k., and we have had some great battles even though the Tiger is severely outclassed. It seems like I read on here somewhere that the T-72 is as slow as the Tiger. Since you have the T-72 and the Leo, is the Leo faster. For scale, the Tiger's speed is much more realistic. However, when your 10-year-old is trying to blow you off the face of the earth, a little bit more speed would be good!

Yes, their aim was terrible. The other games went much better with hits as far away as 25ft. Again, this was outside on an overcast day so I am pleased with 25ft of range. I have yet to try and cover the top of the IR sensor with a sticker to see if it increases range.

I have done this and it works very good.... I remember using the dark blue or green ones they sell at staples they come in yellow, red, blue and green and are the size of like a bingo chip ....I just centered it and stuk it right on top of the sensor on the tank and what it does is block the bright light from the sky above going into it and it makes it work better..... Maybe if you can spray paint the stickers on the sheet flat black first before sticking them on the tanks it will work even better.
