Eddy, Domonic, et al,

What a surprise!!!I have never seen the pix!!!Thanks...anything that promotes gas OB ...the lower unit on the hull was fabricated by Loring Miller of Eugene, Oregon...and this was at the 2007 Nats in San Jose..I built the hull in 1999-2000..raced it at the 2002 Nats w/ a K&B 67 ...the last time quarter scale ran at the NATS...1st place, which was a surprise...the hull sits in my shop...Bodyguards observations are right on....I think "dead rise" is a must for turning, etc.

Keep up the exchange, guys...it will grow the hobby of gas OB!

Jay

Hey DOM,
Thanks mate. Don't shout when its ready. Yell out loud please.

SpecialK1,
I've downloaded some of those OB pics but you;ve got them all .Thanks man . I'll save them for reference.
I think I have configured the right dimension all round to take on any of those OBs for very close scale look. Pics attached for everyone interested to see.

Jay,
Thanks, My humble observations is backed by many years of hands on experience and studying some available research materials.
The applied theory on my tunnel seems to work very well and I myself am amazed, and there are still a lot more I would like to experiment so I could come up with one "Refined Design" for my full scale tunnel in the near future.

As a token of my appreciation to you all involved in one way or another toward the development of OB gas tunnel , here are some pics of my latest total wood build tunnel already despatched to SA.
Kind Regards

Latiff

Hi specialk1, somehow you forgot the 'Lawless' which I would imagine has been the most sold to date. Looking at all those amazing/some perculiar legs, makes one realise just how much effort has been invested into the developement of this gas O/B class, then considering that not all the legs that have been developed world wide to date have been represented. Soon I will add our effort.

Hey Dom and everbody else,

These pics may help to illustrate the other half of me on Gas tunnel boat racing (not OB ). This was the most recent race 18 and 19 July in a township upriver that can only be reached by Express ferry boat. I was not there due to other commitment but I have raced these boats where scale look does not really matter but pure joy of racing gas tunnel boats powered by weedie or chainsaw motors 44cc and above. Enjoy the pics.

Rgds.

what others companies make hulls here in the US . just want to test out some of these old outboards out . thanks

A bit off topic, because these hulls are not manufactured in the US, but herewith some pictures of the ¼ scale Synthar gas tunnel hull made in The Netherlands by John Vianen.

You could shoot a m@il to johnvianen@wanadoo.nl to see if he is willing to export to the US ?

Also see link to Portugese modelboat forum, I think the pics and the small movie are well worth registring for ?

Rgds, Eddy

Hi Eddy,

I'd like to have a closer look on John's tunnel. Do you have pics like the ones posted by Webdr.

Very telling pictures aren't they?

Hey Dom,
I would go thru a gas tunnel thread when I see them . You bet I have read the post on the development by Sharpy. I had the same sort of ideas but never really got down to do it as I am still on tunnel design development. Perhaps I can spare sometimes to do so now but only for my own use.

Regards.

Latiff,

I didn't find an award winning photographer yet, but I think these ones will do for your purpose ?

About the topic thing: Actually this thread, the f1 race boat gas thread and the OUTBOARD DRIVE home built thread more or less mix up.
I am not a moderator, but to keep things simple my suggestion would be to either gather all items in one overall gas outboard thread, or to keep separate threads for (for instance) boats, outboards and general items (as rules etc.).

Just my 2 cents again

Rgds, Eddy

It was just announced this morning at the Delmarva gas boat race that Jeff Michaud at Insane Boats is coming out with an OB tunnel soon. He showed pictures of it and it looks low and swoopy. It may be late fall or early next year before those actually hit the market.

YPC, before you get on someone's case, maybe you should take a few minutes to read this site's rules as I see that you're in violation of one of the big ones, not putting in your signature that you are a manufacturer of RC-related products. I'd be watching the promotion of your items also as that could get you shown the door.

thank you Ron , is it to early to share any pictures of it still dint know why YPC is mad he seem to be a good chap still love more ob info from him .

I see that I edited my posting too late as I had a little rage thing going on for a second. Sorry, but I'm not in a good mood right now after having to do a brake job on my pick-up as it was worse and a lot more expensive than it should have been. It should have been just new pads but ended up with new rotors and bearings to boot.

Oops, I'm getting OT so I'd better quit typing now..........

FYI, Insane Boats is coming out with a gas OB tunnel. They showed off a prototype at the NAMBA Winter Nat's a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if it's on their site yet or not.
[Update] Yes, it's on their site: http://insaneboats.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=53&Itemid=86
