My belt looks just like that on my fusion right now. I just got a new belt in the mail yesterday so i will probably replace it after i run it again or before then.

elven wizard -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (7/17/2009 10:30 PM)

Nitrohead I understand what your saying about the wait and see thing on the Manic's belt durability for offroad use. Thats why I wont say for certain dirt, little rocks, sand or etc wont effect the Manic's belt drivetrain until I fully test one out. I'm as curious as you are about it.
Now the Sx belt/idler,spur doesn't seem to have a issue with dirt clogging things up. Though the drivetrain is centered in the middle of the chassis were as the Manic is on the right side. Will wheel spinning when turning your front wheels push dirt up in there to cause a problem being open like that ?

I do have to hand to Schumacher though for putting a belt drivetrain in a 1/8th scale. All my Nitro 1/8th scale 4wd Rc's are shaft drive..

Below - Elven is working on a shaft driven Warhead

Thats all you will be doing with duratrash rc's im afraid. [:'(]

elven wizard -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (7/18/2009 12:50 AM)

I have had many Duratrax Rc's. Some happy experiences with them some not. I'm not to hot about the Supertigre engine's.

How is that Fusion of yours holding up with that big block .28 in it?? Have you ran it yet??

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (7/19/2009 2:13 AM)

i ran it last weekend, put about 4 tanks through it and did some high speed passes. Car runs good but its hard to control, due to wheelspin all the time. Theres a drag race even t next weekend i believe not too far from here. Im going to take it there and see what numbers it can run.

nitrohead5300 -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (7/19/2009 5:21 AM)

Good luck buddy!!

ProRCRacer88 -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (7/20/2009 7:57 AM)

Thanx, hopefully someone tapes the day or at least my car in action

silverman1 -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (8/18/2009 11:29 PM)

The new Maniac is definately unique, and nice looking, but I also would have big time concerns about belts and pulley wear for offroad use. I definately would completely enclose it, and seal it for offroad use. but it is a very nice looking truck.

Elven Wizard, I hear you on the supertigre motors man, its a shame duratrax did not plop an SH in them, or even run the older os rg .21, less power but definately reliable!!

srt10 -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (8/23/2009 9:49 AM)

This truck should be awesome with a twin!
this thing should sound awesome!

silverman1 -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (8/24/2009 5:59 AM)

shumacher makes some really nice looking vehicles.

elven wizard -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (8/30/2009 10:24 AM)

Silverman1 - O.S.'s are a reliable engine. I do agree on that.

anyone know when this bad boy comes out?
and how much?

roobar -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (10/17/2009 5:29 AM)

I have had mine for about 6 weeks now and had no major issues at all . I have managed to throw the drive belt once but that was driving it through a field of wild oats . Also i have managed a bit of body damage but nothing too serious . Both engines run within a degree of each other temp wise . This is my first RC car and i have had no problems tuning it .

elven wizard -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (10/17/2009 11:29 AM)

This is good to hear. 6 weeks of good use proves that the Manic with twin engines & the belt is a reliable rc

Any chance you could share that information with me too?!  I have to strip down my MCD Baja 1000 before winter properly arrives and I'm damned if I can work out how you service the shocks!

Good truck ? etc.

anyone?
I want to see a video !! [:D]

Havoc1992 -> RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic (1/30/2010 7:53 PM)

I've had a manic for a couple of weeks now, got it for £395.
The only bad things i can say about it are that i couldn't get it started without having to use a hair dryer to heat it up for the first 7 or 8 tanks. After that it starts pretty easily.
After a run, it had a jolt when i pushed it forward, turns out some mud had got into the rear belt cog and had jammed itself into some of the teeth.
It has had a few flips and landed on its roof a few times and has held up as well as my havoc so it seems very tough.
The engines aren't that loud when compared with a savage x but they have so much power. The acceleration is instant and it gets to around 40-45mph and the brakes are pretty good because the radio gear it comes with has the option of ABS which twitches the throttle/brake servo between brake and neutral when the brakes are applied.
It is a very fast and robust truck and is well worth the money.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask and i'll do my best to help.
