What's the best mini electric airplane for beginner. I am looking for best combination of reliability, price and performance and easy learning curve.

When it comes to Mini helicopters Blade MXC is by far the winner in this category. What about airplanes? Is Vapor the one?

I have the Parkzone Citabria and it's a great little plane. Easy to fly, durable, and great fun if you have a gym. It doesn't handle flying outdoors very well, if there's even a slight breeze it gets pushed around a lot. I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks!...I'd really want something that flies outside. Mini heli indor is OK but plane really needs its space as not many people have access to the Gym

I don't think you will find any planes in the mini size that will fly outdoors unless it is dead calm. They are too light and too slow to fly outside. Even the smaller park flyers can only handle minimal wind.

I agree with OEMFlyer. I also have the Parkzone Cub (original, non-brushless) which is much larger than micro size, and even that can only handle very minimal breezes, any gusts over 10km/h and it is liable to be absolutely uncontrollable. As far as I know, a mini or micro sized plane that is well-suited to flying outdoors does not yet exist. They just don't have enough weight to stand up to the wind, and unless you live in a place where it is dead calm 90% of the time, that will make them unsuitable for flying outdoors.

Condor,

If you are a beginner, a mini plane is not the way to go, unless you want to play around with some AirHogs planes that you can buy at the toy store. However, since you mention flying the Blade MCX, which I agree is a terrific mini heli, rather than flying one of the AirHogs helis, I presume that you intend to learn and do some serious flying. With that in mind, you need to get a good beginner plane such as the HobbyZone SuperCub or the Multiplex EasyStar. Both are excellent planes to start you off. Do a search to get other people's input, but you might want to try more popular sites like Wattflyer.com and RCGroups.com.

The Vapor flies well in a very small space, the Ember flies well in a little larger space (flies a little faster). You need < 5mph winds for both.
