Take the canopy and toss it in the trash can.....

Call Bruce Tharpe and get a canopy for a Venture 60. It's lower profile (similar to an extra) is much nicer imho. There's links to contact him at www.venture60.com

As for mods...here's what I did.

1. Rudder - added a tapered extension 1" at the top down
to 2" at the bottom.

2. Shorten the wing by one bay each side.

3. Sheet the leading edge to first spar if you fly off a grass
field to prevent lots of holes in your covering.

4. Order some wheel pants - I got a set from a Venture 60 while
I was ordering the canopy. Again, looks nicer in my opinion.

It's a blast to fly...you'll surely love it.

Best,
Harold

I had originally installed the stock canopy but cut it down so it wasn't so funky looking.
The nose was tapered after seeing an article in RCM a couple years ago.

Ditto on cutting the canopy down. I didn't like the way the canopy looked so I trimmed it from the back and bottom to get a better profile. Nothing to loose so start trimming untill you get what you like.

Hi..Thanks for your fast replies..I was also thinking about trimming the canopy..
Harold.. I met Buce Tharpe at the WRAM show.this past Feb. The Venture 60 is on my "to build" list.
The 4* will be my 1st attempt to fly a tail dragger..I am presently trainning with a Sig MidStar which Buce designed. Flys much better then my old trainer.

I heard somewhere you can turn the canopy backwards and trim it to fit like that. Makes a much more sleaker profile.
