I would like to know how much power a 60LX will provide if compared to a 50Lx. I bought a Sundowner 50 (Hangar 9's) and I was considering using my old BSE 50Lx in it. But I am really tempted by the 60Lx as I became speed addicted. [>:]

Would the 60Lx make a big difference? Anyone has an idea?

If you have the 50LX and it runs well, use that in the sundowner.

The 60LX will get you another 500-700 rpm on the top end, but will add some complexity to the equation. Speed wise, you will not see any improvement over the 50LX.

Stick with the 50LX if you have it

Bob

Yes. Tell Dub you are installing the engine on a Sundowner, and request the sundowner spacer and exhaust extention. It is cut at the right angle.

Prop size ... 9x7, 9x8, 10x6 (after you have time on it), and also the D-1 series APC 8.8x8.5, 8.8x8.75, 8.75x8W. Also likes the 8.75x9W once you have run it for a while.

Selection depends on your aircraft.

Prop rpm target is ground peak rpm no less than 17,500 rpm. Back the engine down from peak about 800-1000 rpm for flight.
