Mike, I have seen a couple of posts that indicate that the metal gear version of the 225 develops some "slop" after a period of time, whereas the nylon gear version does not. Do you have any experience with this happening? Also, in terms of precision, is the metal gear 225 more or less precise than the nylon gear version.

I use hitec nylon gear servos exclusively and am trying to determine if I should move up to the metal gear versions.

cwoodstx- Metal gear servos will always develop more slop over time than nylon gear but you may break the nylon gear in some applications where the metal holds up fine. One trick is to rotate the gears 180 degrees to work off of a fresh area of the gear to reduce the slop. The servos are identical except for the gears so the preciseness is the same
