It is a seat and not a needle, but it is a huge problem and the 5.9 seems to be the worst of the bunch. The Orings are too small to do their job. I have been using rubbing alcohol to clean the threads and Permatex thread sealant to secure the seat. I have one, be glad to donate it as I do not plan to run that carburetor again. I switched my last K5.9 over to a Nova Rossi N528XR carburetor. Anyway, when you put it back together, use some sealant on the edge of the screw as well. Then wipe off the excess when you get it installed. Glen

It went out US Post today, depending upon the postal service.... anyway, be sure to pick up a tube of Permatex Thread Sealant.

Their part # 59214... it is the best solution for this problem that I know of. Glen

Do like BudBud said the sealant works great any way your 5.9 will blow up long before the mid seat falls out again[sm=shades_smile.gif]

Glen you are my hero!
Thank you so much! I did not want to buy a new carb for $60.
Let me know if you need/want anything.

I have seen carbs with tape in the threads. If you can apply a thin layer without getting into the orings, it should work. The trouble with that midrange seat is that the threads are beyond the orings, and very small to be trying to stick a wrap of tape on.... Glen
