Status: offline 		I have been following the strings abut still have no difinitive answer for the best 3D hover gas Motor for this plane. I want to purchase one but the Motor/ 3d Performance mystery still looms. Leaning toward the MLD 28, thought the Evolution 26-GX would be good but I read the MLD would be better. Lets Go Guys and settle this.

Thanks for the info. Do you think this will be a good 3D fit for the Seagull Extra 260..1.80 version. Specks seem awsome, I know very little about this motor is it as good in quality as the MDL.

If your plane is 25% , the motor was designed for that..
If it has the same quality as the DL50, 55. 100 and the 111 you will be pleased....

Status: offline 		I cannot comment on the MLD 28 or 26 GX but I had this plane with an SPE 40 and it I thought the 40 was a great combo. I friend of mine has a DZY 26 in his Seagull Extra 1.80 which flys it just O/K - but definatly NOT 3D stuff. Given a choice - I would upsize to a 40 and be done with it.

my friend is flying his with RCS 26cc, it has sport performance, it fly great.

Hi,
I was interested in buying the seagull extra 260 180 size, and wanted to put a gasoline engine in also.. I have a few quetions if you dont mind. I see you said you bought the new dle30. I looked up the  instructions for the plane but they did not give any info for a gasoline engine. Could you tell me exactly how you did this. was it off center, did the firewall already have right thrust etc. also how is the preformance with the dle30. Thanks for your time!

besides fuel cost the OS 160 will outperform this 40 anyday. Its lighter and just flies better. there are some good torque imrovements on the gasser, down low. If you like to hover and give up other character,buy the gasser. Overall the OS is the winner INMO.

Status: offline 		have you considered one of the supertigre gas conversions? i have a ST3000 that was converted to gas (electronic ignition) that i will be putting in mine. weighs the same as the glow engine basically, and with the smaller fuel tank it evens out the weight of carrying the ignition battery.

Status: offline 		hi guys just put one together, i have a brand spanking new st 3000 just in the process of running it in, (10% dynaglo and a graupner g-sonic 20-10 prop, its showing promis at 6200 rpm which is in my opinion just right for the prop etc) this is not a gas convertion and it rand for ages on just one tank which surprised me as i would of though it would be like my moki 2.10 and drink fule like it was going to die tomorrow lol but it lasted a good 20 mins on a 600 cc tank were as the moki would drink that in 10,
 however for 3d performance i reckon this is the crown jewl, im not the biggest fan of st but it sure as hell would take off vertical and from the point of veiw this is the first time its had fule through it i was impressed and still thinking it can only get better with some more runs.


i do however need to no if anyone had problems with tail servo instalation and weather anyone has hovered this so i can get an idea of how she behaves on an average basis =]

Status: offline 		I have this plane with an OS160 and power is not an issue, it does very well. Will hover all day and pull out whenever you want. If I was to do it again I would try the DLE 30 just to see the difference. I am very impressed with the DLE engine. I have a DLE55 in my Aeroworks YAK and it will yank that plane all over the sky.

Status: offline 		I just recentley got a seagull extra 260 180 size and am putting a DLE 30 on it. I was wondering how you measure where to put the stand offs on the firewall. I bought a drill jig for the stand offs but I don't know how far to offset the stand offs to acheive some right thrust. On my great planes cap 232 there are lines to show you where to mount it at. I've looked at the manual and there is nothing in the manual that says where to mount it at. Any help would be greatly appreciated
