Status: offline 		from what i have seen, the 523 is a little stronger than the picco, but not worth the extra 100 dollars, though it does come w/ a pipe. if i were you, i'd just buy a lrp .28 or .30 and call it done. it does need the bb kit though, so that factors into cost

Status: offline 		I too vote the RB. RB is Rossi manufactured so you are guaranteed Rossi quality in materials, tolerances, reliability, and also performance (for the most part).

Next up I would say Sirio (This is a Rossi engine), and in that same line, Picco (The red Dot over the plain old Picco .26).

OS has some great engines, especially their speed tuned engines. Dont get the .21VG though, you will be seriously disappointed in its power.

Axial .28 is only a basher engine, it is not a racing or high quality engine. It is at most mid grade, but really more equivalent to most non-clone RTR engines.

Status: offline 		It might be good to read around the Traxxas section and see what people run, and then see who is having any drivetrain troubles....I had a Picco-Maxx .21 5 port engine in my Maxx, and it shredded the transmission after about 5 tanks...

Status: offline 		well then, i believe the 523 is it. my friend runs the 523 in his 3.3 maxx on stock everything except wheels, and he hasn't broken anything in the tranny, till he took the tranny apart.

Status: offline 		i dont believe that he has an account here sadly. i've driven it a few times and it's fast, we found that he had a linkage issue and could only open the throttle to about 2/3 and it was as fast as my 3.3. when he got it all the way open it was another animal.

Yes i wait then.. but i think it will be one of those engine =) can get it for 256$ on ebay with pipe and engine mount shipping is $30 something

Status: offline 		picco .26 will blow the axial out of the water. it has a strong low end, but little top end. like all piccos, the .26 pulls hard all the way through. and you dont need a bb kit. i still like the 523 most, but it is pricey. but that may just be because i have first hand experience w/ it.
