Are you going to install the retract unit where they are on your picture? Or have you just put them on the wing to show them off?

The reason I ask, is because I made a mistake when I was installing the fixed gear. I dont know how it happened, I think I read the instructions wrong, But I managed to put the gear too far forward, thus I had to repair it with some balsa, and move it more backwards. Otherwise the plane sits on its behind :-)

On the pic, It looks as if you have the gear the exact same spot as my "wrong" gear location is.

No they were just there to show off and trying to align them to the scale spot.
I've got a scale now between my airfix 1/72 Red Arrow and the Aerotek one.
I'll see where they end up (scale) and if they are futher fowards than yours, I'll move 'em back!

Cheers
Dave

have no idea.... I didn`t paint mine at the time :-)

The film I used, pretty much matched the gel coated fuse.

Did you know that there is a Conversion kit for our Aerotek Hawks to Ducted fan? (.45 sized)

Might do that after a while

I cant see why it should fall apart.

You should try feel a kangaroo. The whole plane is so wobbely, and thin, you wouldn`t believe it. My new hotspot is verry strong compared to the roo....

Im putting In my webra 50......it wont fly fast, but it will be airbourne :-)

The retract installation is becoming a right pain in the a*s.
The main problem as you said is spreading the shock. As i am flying from a bumpy grass strip and I want the wing to stay in one piece.
If you know of anyone who's installed retracts into foam wings, could you pass their email on to me.

Dave

Thanks SJ,
That's saved my wing from the lump hammer

I see probuild mention a Retract mounting box (readymade) but I can't find anyone who sell them. Oh well, I've email them, so hope for a reply soon.

Thanks for your help again
Dave
