Hi Dave

I was extremely disappointed in the performance of my kyosho F-16
I had a very very bad experience with mine. I just could not get mine to fly.
It is quite underpowered as stock. And I used 8 too heavy RC2400 cells which did not help. And I don't think I got the CG right. After trying to get it to fly, it got so many dings and cracks and deformations. Repairing these, made it even more heavy....and thats about it. I used very many hours on it and gained nothing. Too bad, i liked the way it looked.

My Hotspot is ready to fly....so it wont be long now :-) The superjet that I have ordered is being molded right now, and will be ready about next month.

Ive been flying my simprop selection glider with a webra 36 on it, and its great fun.....for now anyway :-)

I haven't done anymore hawk building of late. I found 2 micro (but powerful) servos and a 380 motor.
I've built my self a flying triangle. I used an elevator off of a Trainer and cut it in half and am using elevon mixing.
Will fly it as soon as I have a pusher prop for it.
I'll post a pic later

Do you think it would be possible and relitively easy to mount a 91 or higher 2stroke engine on the back or a Graupner hotspot in a pusher prop configuartion?

I know this can be done with the TGA Topcat, but i prefer the look of the hotspot!
And the Hotspot is avaliable in the UK!

Yours flown yet?

Dave

Hi Dave

I actualy think that you could install a 91 engine. I dont thik there will be gobs of power, but it would fly. It would be a great deal lighter with this setup. Mine weighs 9,5kg witout fuel. Take away 2,5kg for the turbine and electrics and bat. Maybe use oracover on the wings and tail instead of glass. Then it could work out ok. But I would use a bigger engine.
But then you begin to have problems with ground clearence with props......

The kangaroo is ready for a glow engine. THere is a ply engine mount included with the kit. Cant see why the hotspot would be too much different.
I dont think anyone has done it......at least here on RCU. Try ask in the jet section

Havn`t flown the Spot yet.....still waiting for the perfect moment.

Hi SJ,

Been awhile since last on this thread. Since then I've decided not to install retracts, and will be putting an irvine 53 in it. Possibly piped.

Also now got a GP Patriot. Very fast indeed. Have you got your superjet yet?

heh, your plane collection is expanding rapidly :-)
Nice looking Patriot

Superjet....no, I had to cancel my order. My old BMW broke down, and I bougt a Mitsubishi Galant to replace it.
That took all my spare cash

But....Im getting a Eurosport instaed. I want a "scale" jet. Im buying an orange one, but will paint it in a scale scheme later on.
