I am having issues with mounting of outrunner motor in the Seagull Xray. The kit included a motor box, but the instructions do not mention anything about mounting it. They rather show the motor mounted directly to the firewall. See page 6 in http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.uk/downloads/5500525a.pdf. I checked with seagullmodels.com and found the instructions there to be different. See page 6 in http://www.seagullmodels.com/Admin/cgi-bin/SanphamImage/sach%202X.pdf. They show that either of two supplied motor boxes are to be used depending on the size of the motor (450 or 480).

So what is correct? Motor box or no motor box.

As I am going to use a 480 equivalent motor (35x22 size) I opted to fit the supplied motor box but am finding the CG to be way forward of the suggested 7 cm from leading edge at wing tip. So I am thinking of removing it again to get the CG back. That will in turn make me have to cut down the cowling a lot, so I would not want to do this unless I am absolutely sure that it is the correct solution.

    Please help.

    Regards
