ORIGINAL: joe78586 Yes the .26 I am referring to is a four stroke. And I can remove the head gasket and if needed I can shave the sleeve to get more compression. This is the engine http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPT58&P=0 Hi, first i thinked it was a 2 stroke carengine , yes..it is possible to convert your engine to dieselengine. You must remove material from cylinderhead and a part of crankcase for sleeve. It shall be about 20:1-22:1 compression ratio + volume of "energy cell", it shall be variable between 16:1-20:1 with contrapiston from low to max. It is not enough remove head casket to increase compresion. But you must have head casket to seal better.. Since your engine are a car engine, maybe you must add a bigger flywheel to run better in idle.. quote:
Joe, when I tried to run Diesel fuel in my Saito .80 as is, it had far too much compression and I couldn't run it more than half throttle. In fact at half throttle it was making dangerous noises. Cause too high compresion where it detonates very hard in engine, better you mount the "energy cell" as shown in photo and reduce compresion. Have you measured compresion ratio at your Saito?
