Status: offline 		Cool TXT. Yeah, I can attest to the shear "bigness" of stock e-savage pinions. I did a routine check on my brother's e-savage. When I looked under the gear cover I was thinking to myself, "holy crap, they're huge!". They don't look like something you'd see on an MT, more like a touring car set up for sheer speed. Maybe I'm just not used to speed MTs...

it was fitted with the xtm457 engine, new era extended chassis, titanim dogbones, and just about every new era hopup available for it,

i`ve since sold every one of those trucks and to be honest i wish i hadn`t missed them all except for the cen gst ,

still have a 1/5 scale baja, savage xss lrp30 and a monster gt 4.6 which keeps me entertained in my spare time,

i would love to get a custom racing clod put together sometime in the future as i like speed and scale looks of one

Status: offline 		Only ball bearings and MGT servo saver. Right now all my $$$ is going towards finishing my Jugg 2. Btw, I found that I happened to have a few spare 2.6mm screws, so I was able to get the servo fixed up the day after it came apart. I put a bit of red locktite on the screw, so it shouldn't be coming out any time soon.

Status: offline 		Ok, now that I've had my TXT-1 for awhile I'm thinking I need more speed out of it. It probably does 5 to 6 miles per hour, I had it out in the snow yesterday and It just doesn't look realistic enough as far as wheel spin and power. If I go with a crawler motor I'm not sure if that would do it for me, unless they can go faster too. I don't know much about replacement motors, so any advice would help.

Also I'm trying to understand the whole 12T, 55T thing. This is for the speed of the motor? I'm thinking the lower the number the faster the turn rate? I also want to replace the esc at the same time, so I need to know what a good replacement would be for that plus two motors. I'll probably just stick with brushed motors too, cheaper on batteries with nimh vs lipo.

So basically looking for something (brushed) that will do around 15 miles per hour maybe twenty tops.

I don't want to buy the wrong thing and find it won't even fit.

Status: offline 		The higher the number the slower the speed. Stock silver cans are faster than a 55t crawler motor. Stock cans might be 27t? not sure. I am running 2 stock Silver cans in my TXT which was a hug jump in speed over the twin 55t's the previous owner had put in them.

You'll need a relatively fast motor since the txt-1 is geared so low. Probably at least as low turns as 19 to get near that range of speed. Getting a pinion with more teeth will also increase speed.

Exactly.

Manual speed controls work by using that resistor to reduce the voltage when you drive at less than full throttle. The slower you drive, the hotter that resistor gets.

ESCs use special circuits to reduce the power so you can drive as slow as you want without burning anything up.

The only thing I don't like about the txt is the twisting it does when it's going forward or reverse. But based on it's suspension I don't see any way to stop it without stiffening it up completely. All in all it's a good rig, I'm trying to find a good f150 body for it that's an inch longer, seems like the stock one is a little short for the frame. I'll probably take it out today and do some more runnin in the snow.

I might just throw some titan 550's in there for now, they're cheap, only like 25 each, then upgrade the controller. If I don't like the motors I won't be out much. 12t might be a little faster than what I'm looking for, but the price is good.

I went threw my yard with the other day and the tracks are still there in the snow, looks like a wild beast tore threw it! Ok, I'm ready to fire it up again before it gets dark.

Status: offline 		As far as good upgrades a Novak Super Rooster or a Traxxas EVX for the esc and the titan motors out of an Emaxx should get you where you want to be. As for Jeepheads frame and skids he did the coloring himself. Came out pretty sweet didn't it?

Do you have the sway bars on it? They help a lot with the twist and mine still has good articulation(about 6").

HPI and Parma both have ones of the newer f-150s. Both are 1/8 scale, which should give you a bit more length. HPI tends to have a bit better detailing, though.
