Hello everyone,

I building a JAE 21 rigger jet.
A friend of my made the woodparts on his cnc milling machine.
By doing this there are some questions that the plans cant answere.
Maybe one of you can help me:
How wide are the sponsons? (there is no notice in the plans)

What carbon bomm tubes are you using?
Are you using a tube or somthing more like a rod?

Regards
Christian

The foam core on the sponson is 1 inch. The boom tubes are 5/16 or comparable and you can go with solid or hollow

The .12 Zippkit riggers are fast! Nice hull to throw in your sport compact car to take to the pond at 36 mpg. No need for a SUV like the big gassers....

You should just get a torque starter for it. It's already set up for it

Did some bench testing, found some problems with the motor: first the high speed needle twists its way out at high rpms. Second when you put full throttle in the motor goes up but when you let off it will get stuck there sometimes?? Also is it bad to bench test your boat with your prop shaft connected to the motor??
Thanks Josh

Josh, I can give you some advice on your set up but please don't take some of it negatively. First the exhaust system in its current configuration will not work very well, it is way too long and the proboat style header is too constrictive. The header from a Miss Vegas or SV27 will work much better and get the pipe over to the side instead of over your radio box. You can get them from Tower hobbies as well as the flywheel. The super tigre motor is a decent motor but in its stock form it does not have the timing numbers needed to get the performance from your tuned pipe, it will work OK but it will not match the performance of other motors like the Nova Rossi etc. if you remove the starter system and add a flywheel and belt to start it with you also need to put a standard back plate on it. You will not be able to pull some of the props that others are using because the ST just doesn't have the power to do it. If you are just going to play with it and don't plan on racing you can expect mid 40's maybe 50 mph with the right prop. If you really want to go fast a Nova Rossi is the only way to go, I have ran mine for the last 3 years and won to district championships with it running in the low to mid 60's consistently. I hope some of this helps you out and if you have any other questions just ask and I am sure myself and others will be glad to try and answer them.
Jim
