I received a thunder AC6 smart charger from you and it terminates the charge process on my lipo batteries after a few minuets with an error alarm saying 'BREAK DOWN' The manual says this is a charger circuit malfunction by any reason. I guess that means the charger is broke. I have tried 4 different batteries with the same result. If I lower the charge rate it will charge a little bit longer before giving me the same error. My new charger doesn't seem to work and I would just like to get a replacement.

This email is regarding NitroPlane order number

No, there is nothing wrong with the charger.

There IS however something wrong with your LiPo's or the way you have the charger set up.

The "Break down" message indicates that the charger is not seeing the expected minimum voltage from the LiPo packs.

LiPo's are considered "ruined" if you discharge them too much, as this damages the cells.

The first thing the computer controlled chargers do, is to check the condition of the batteries.

If the batteries are over discharged or unable to sustain a proper load, the charger issues an error.

Since the charger cannot differentiate between a short or a bad pack, the same error is issued for both conditions... and you get the "break down" message.

You'll also see this if you attempt to charge a good pack and disconnect the pack while charging.

can you use a voltimeter to measure the output of the battery and let me know?

I understand what your saying but I don't believe thats my problem.....all 3 of my lipo's do the same thing and the ac6 charges them for 10 to 20 minuets and I can watch the individual cell voltage while I'm charging with the ac6 the individual cell voltages are very close  example 3.7 3.8 3.7 or somtimes identical untill I get the BREAKDOWN alarm. If I back off the charge rate to 1.0 or less it will go for maybe another 5 or 10 min. I have 3 batteries 2   2200 mah and a 1800 mah I started with 2.2 amp on the 2200's and 1.8 with the 1800 thinking this was a little to much current I tried backing them off  but no matter low low I got it always alarms way befor I get to 4.2 volts per cell. They charge fine with my e-sky ballance charger and I check them after and they are always right at 4.2 per cell and 12.6 overall. I've always been carefull with my batteries and they are only about 6 months old. The 2 2200 mah's are ZIPPY's and the 1800 is a esky battery. I love the charger but I really think its defective.

Thanks...........Mark
