Here is the best color photo I have ever seen of the Little Toni Cosmic Wind. The second photo is the only color photo I have ever seen of the non T-tailed Rivets.

These photos were found at 1949 Cleveland National Air Races Gallery

Hi I'm very interested in this pylon racing thing would love to know how much it will cost total for a plane and equipment right now money is the issue but could use this information in the future. Also can anyone give me a lineup of the planes to purchase for racing specs. like to fly in the q40 or q500 any other ones out here would be nice. Thanks for the help.

CrazyRyan,

Houston is the home of Dub Jett, who has posted a wealth of info on his site at www.jettengineering.com ... for other sources & methods, visit www.pylonworld.com and links from there.

You can get into racing with a $75 Thunder Tiger Pro .40, a $250 basic 4-channel radio, and either a $130 Predator or Viper ARF or about $30 worth of wood if you're willing to scratch-build. I wouldn't even think about a full-on Q40 just yet; most of those are $400 composites that go 180 mph and fly on their side. However, there are several good glass-and-foam Q40 kits out there that don't cost too much would fly great with a .25 to .40 sport engine -- just don't plan on entering a contest with that setup because, as far as I know, there is no "sport Q40" going on. (Not that it wouldn't be a great idea; there just isn't.)

Try those links, then send me a PM if you can't find what you're looking for.

Regards,
DHG
