Hi Guys,

This is my second Top-Flite Giant P-51 that I am putting together. On the first one, I installed a 3W50i, but felt there was a lot of vibration. Anyway, I have a brand new Saito FG36 with me. Do you think there will be enough power? I remember someone installing an OS BGX1 but would love to hear some suggestions.

Thanks

Here's a link to a long running thread on the TFGS P-51 ARF, just in case you haven't seen it.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1158439/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

I am on my second TFGS P-51. Using a G-62 for power. Our field is at 3700 ft above sea level. I doubt the Saito FG36 would have enough power here. It might be OK at a lower altitude, but not really good. Just my guess, I do not really know.

I have an OS BGX on a GS P-40 weighting about 16 lbs. It pulls the P-40 around fairly well. At a lower altitude it would probably do OK on the heavier P-51.

Brian

How about a 4.4ci (72cc) Husqvarna with a precision balanced Formula 1 GT prop and spinner. Almost 10 horsepower, 9500 rpm and no vibration whatsoever!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the link and the pictures and information.

I'll definitely consider other options before installing any engine.
