Wondering if anyone can help...I have an old RC-10 buggy w/ servos, speed control, and receiver. I lost the futaba pistol radio during a move. Can I just buy a used transmitter and the right crystals to make the thing run? And if so which crystals would I need? Thanks.

Yeah you should be able to use any transmitter on the same frequency. It should tell you on the receiver which frequency it is...get a set of crystals to match and you're set.

Assuming if it is an old RC10 it is also 75 mhz AM in which case YES you can use any brand of 75mhz AM transmitter with any other brand of 75mhz reciever. IE 75AM airtonics reciever will work fine with 75AM Futaba transmitter. If you have one crystal now all you need is the transmitter for the same one and a pistol radio. Have a BUNCH of them if your interested. Send me an email and we can figure out where you need to be.

Dan, there are no postitive and negative shifts on ground frequency AM radios so any with work with the other brands. Shift is only a problem with FM in ground freqs and of course all FM air. Have been mixing receivers and transmitters on 75 and 27 AM for over 20 years without a problem. Even the newer stuff if AM can be used with the older stuff.

Yes you can Dan. Was even going to offer to send you the oposite receiver and or crystals so you could try it Currently have 15 trucks, cars and boats between my two grown sons, granddaughter and myself, all with mix and match. Way back when Airtonics servos were cheaper than others and Airtronics receivers had better rejection to glitches etc so there are a LOT of older used trucks etc out there with those in them and being controlled by Futaba Mag JR's. My combos mostly ended up the other way around when I decided I like the old Airtronics XL2P radio feel. GO FOR IT.
